Alexander Young
Physiotherapist
Physiotherapy was a comfortable career choice for Alex after excelling and competing at an elite level of Triathlon from a young age. Alex has spent his career in private Physiotherapist practice on the south side of Brisbane city. He graduated with a Bachelor of Exercise Science and a Masters of Physiotherapy at Griffith University with academic excellence.
Alex has a keen interest in spinal pain as well as shoulder injuries which he frequently sees at the Mt Gravatt practice. He has also had exposure to these among many other conditions working within AFL, Queensland Premier Grade Rugby Union and soccer teams at an elite level. Alex was fortunate to spend time working in a strength and conditioning gym, where he was able to advance his services and abilities from some of the leading strength and conditioning coaches in Australia. He has developed relationships with well known specialists and surgeons within the area and is one of the go to Physiotherapists in the region for Pre & Post Operative rehabilitation
Alex prides himself on his clear and precise communication and rapport building with patients. His patients will benefit from an active listener with a high proficiency of exercise prescription skills. Alex has a strong passion for individual patient care and identifies the main contributor to their pain or concern where he is then able to address this specifically and efficiently. He helps individuals to reach outstanding outcomes by optimizing patient health and by getting them back into what matters most – whether it be back on the field, a yoga class or a jog around the park. Alex aims to empower individuals and give them the tools and solutions to manage for the long term.
Outside of the clinic, Alex enjoys a round of golf, travelling, supporting the Boston Celtics in the NBA and spending time at the beach.
Alex is available for appointments at our Mt Gravatt clinic.
Andrew Spencer
Exercise Physiologist
Andrew is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist who is passionate about helping people achieve meaningful health, performance, and lifestyle outcomes through exercise. Andrew gained extensive clinical experience both during and prior to his studies at the University of Queensland, where he completed a Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology (Honours). His early work as an Allied Health Assistant in gym, hydrotherapy, and home-based programs exposed him to a wide range of conditions and sparked his commitment to guiding clients through recovery and disease management.
Andrew has a strong clinical interest in musculoskeletal and neurological rehabilitation, where he enjoys the challenge and reward of helping people restore independence, confidence, and function. He also has a focus on chronic illness management and is passionate about supporting clients to improve their ability to perform daily activities, enhance their autonomy, and prioritise long-term wellbeing. His approach is evidence-based and shaped by empathy, collaboration, and education, ensuring that each program is meaningful, achievable, and impactful for the individual.
Outside of the clinic, Andrew has represented Queensland in Futsal but now spends much of his time fishing and running after his two young children. On game days, he can be found passionately supporting his beloved Arsenal, a lifelong obsession that he admits takes up more emotional energy than it probably should.
Andrew is available for exercise physiology consultations at Sports & Spinal Mt Gravatt.
