Laura Perry

Low Back & Pelvic Pain

Laura graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the University of South Australia, and since then has been working in rehabilitation centres, as well as private practice. Laura has developed a passion for low back and spinal rehabilitation and working closely with GPs and specialists. Laura believes in a holistic approach to injury and management by addressing issues at a functional and impairment level to help her patients achieve their goals and to get them back to optimal functioning and performance.

Laura has postgraduate training in low back and pelvic injuries, as well as clinical Pilates and spinal rehabilitation, and regularly attends further training to ensure that her clinical skills and knowledge are kept up-to-date. Laura enjoys the outdoors, surfing and spending time with family and friends.

Simon Burley

Shoulder Pain Rehabilitation

Simon Burley has developed expertise in shoulder conditions over many years of postgraduate training. He has completed level III Sports Physiotherapy at the Australian Institute of Sport. Simon also runs the Sunshine Coast Shoulder Clinic with some of the Coast’s leading orthopaedic surgeons.

“The shoulder is a complex and challenging joint that is very reliant on the surrounding musculature working properly. Hence a joint particularly suited to physiotherapy treatment when injured or painful.” Simon Burley

Simon also sets up exercise programs for weight loss and fitness/strength training. He works closely with the Coast’s leading medical team for patients undergoing lapband surgery.

Simon was the physio for the New Zealand Track and Field athletes as they prepared for the Sydney 2000 Olympics and is the physio for a number of well-known athletes on the Sunshine Coast.

Candice Lamb

Women’s Health

Candice graduated from James Cook University with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy, and has been working with Sports and Spinal since 2014. Since graduation, Candice has undertaken further study in the field of Women’s Health and Continence, and is this year beginning her Masters Degree in this specialised area through Curtin University, WA. Candice enjoys treating women of all ages, and is incredibly passionate about educating and empowering women to better understand and manage their conditions. She has experience treating a wide range of conditions including pelvic pain, prolapse, incontinence and constipation, as well as pre and post natal conditions.

Candice also has a keen interest in strength and conditioning, functional movement and exercise based rehabilitation which stems from her background as a weightlifter and Crossfit coach.

Hayley Wilkinson

Lower Limb & Sport Injuries

Hayley graduated with a Master of Physiotherapy Studies from The University of Queensland and also holds a Bachelor Degree in Exercise and Sport Science from the University of Ballarat.

Hayley has been working for the Brisbane Lions Australian Football Club the past 2 years and has developed an interest in treating sporting and lower limb injuries.

Kirstie Davidson

Lower Back & Hip Rehab

Kirstie graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University (Scotland) in 2011. Following this, she started up her own mobile physiotherapy practice in Orkney, North Scotland. As the weather didn’t improve Kirstie decided to move to the Sunshine Coast in 2013 where she worked for three years in aged care, focusing on mobility, exercises and different forms of pain management. Kirstie is keen to help reduce any fear of pain patients can sometimes develop, understand why we have it, and how it shouldn’t hold you back. She has slowly found her niche in treating lower backs, hips, knees and the occasional jaw. In her personal time she is interested in anything to do with water and a hot summers day; be it away camping, the beach, a pool.

David graduated from Australian Catholic University with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy. He was worked in Queensland Health and Private practice in Australia and the United Kingdom focused on orthopaedic and musculoskeletal conditions. David has treated a range of patients in both private practice and sporting teams to developing a clinical interest in the treatment sport-related injuries and rehabilitation. Sophie graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the University of Notre Dame in Western Australia. She focuses on treating her patients with the most recent practice based evidence and believes that all patients should be treated with a highly individualised care plan. Joe Upritchard

Exercise Physiologist

Joe began his studies in Occupational Therapy before realising his calling to Exercise Physiology. He believes playing rugby at a high level including a year overseas helped him realise this.

Joe has a passion for improving the quality of life of his patients through exercise rehabilitation and interventions.

Joe’s special interest is in neurological rehabilitation and disabilities, with over 5 years’ experience working with various neurological and physical conditions. He enjoys helping people get back into prime physical condition so they can feel and move better.

Remedial Massage Therapist

Clair is a Qualified Remedial Massage Therapist and also has an Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy.  She is very passionate about the health benefits and remedial nature of massage and loves seeing the positive change that massage makes in her clients.

Clair has special interests in trigger point therapy, deep tissue therapy, jaw and neck tension relief, and gentle stretching, all to achieve a reduction in muscle tension and pain. She also has experience in relaxation massage, pregnancy massage, and understands the massage needs of mums with babies and young children, but enjoys providing massage solutions for people from all walks of life.

Emily Whitmore

Remedial Massage Therapist

Emily Whitmore graduated from Loughborough University in the United Kingdom in June 2012 achieving a first class honors degree in Sports and Exercise Science. She then went on to complete her Level 5 BTEC Professional Diploma in Clinical Sport and Remedial Massage Therapy at the London School of Sports Massage, qualifying in August 2013. She is also a qualified therapist in advanced Dry Needling.

Since qualifying Emily has worked as a Sports & Remedial Massage Therapist within Physiotherapy clinics in the United Kingdom. Her clinical experience also includes working with British Triathlon at their base in Loughborough; this has involved traveling overseas to training camps and European and World Triathlon events, helping to prevent injury and facilitate recovery from training and competition. Emily also worked as the primary masseuse for the Loughborough Students Elite Rugby Union Team who compete in National League 1.

Dan Ford

Remedial Massage Therapist

Dan has been a practicing remedial massage therapist for 9 years and loves seeing the difference that himself and massage can make to the health and well-being of others. Dan’s background is as a health & fitness educator at TAFE, so he brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience as an educator and therapist.

As well as deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, and various other traditional massage techniques, Dan has a special interest in chronic pain and structural alignment. He incorporates gentle stretching within massage treatments to balance posture and functional alignment. This approach aids in a speedy recovery from injury and feels fantastic.

Tim Boyle


Tim graduated from the Queensland University of Technology as a Podiatrist in 2006. He has gained valuable experience over the last eight years working in a multidisciplinary sports medicine clinic. Within this setting, Tim had the pleasure of working alongside medical & allied health professionals including Sports Doctors, Physiotherapists, and Massage Therapists.

Tim enjoys a broad scope of podiatry including sports injuries of the lower limb, biomechanical assessments, gait analysis, orthotic therapy, footwear assessments and recommendations, diabetic foot assessments and treatment of conditions of the toenails and skin.  Tim is particularly passionate about running biomechanics and footwear advice/prescription, a special interest that commenced through his strong interest in athletics and involvement in the footwear industry.

Over the years Tim has treated a number of senior and junior athletes from a range of different sports, including 2 years treating both the Brisbane Roar and Brisbane Roar youth teams.

Tim is a sports enthusiast himself having been involved in a number of sports from a young age competing at a state level in Athletics and Basketball.

Sophie is a longstanding member of the Sports and Spinal team. Joining us in 2012, Sophie worked on our administration team while she completed a bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of the Sunshine Coast. Sophie joins our clinical team at Sports and Spinal, adding another dimension to the already outstanding multidisciplinary team. With a passion for food and a healthy lifestyle, Sophie can help you achieve your health and wellbeing goals by providing individualised, evidence-based dietary advice. In collaboration with our Exercise Physiologists, Sophie will be an integral part of the Diabetes Health and New You Programs.

Outside of work, Sophie enjoys spending time with family and friends, sharing her passion for food through cooking and baking and making the most of the beautiful Sunshine Coast.

Chelsea McCallum


Chelsea is passionate about empowering clients to transform their health and prevent chronic disease. Having graduated with a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of the Sunshine Coast, Chelsea has experience in a wide range of nutrition areas such as weight management, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, irritable bowel syndrome, malnutrition and sports nutrition.

From a young age, Chelsea has been involved in many sports from touch football to volleyball. More recently she enjoys engaging in outdoor activities to keep fit. Outside of work, Chelsea can be found in her kitchen, at the beach or running up one of the Glass House Mountains.
