Aaliyah Thocolich

Born and raised in Aotearoa, Aaliyah graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the University of Otago and began her career in sports physiotherapy in the Bay of Plenty.

She has worked extensively in rugby environments, including the Volcanix Women’s team during their campaign in New Zealand’s premier women’s rugby competition, the Farah Palmer Cup, as well as with the Bay of Plenty U18s boys and girls teams and Te Puke Sports Rugby Club. Her experience within these settings has strengthened her expertise in gym-based rehabilitation, return-to-play programming, and performance conditioning across a wide range of sports and athletic levels. Aaliyah is passionate about using the principles of elite sport rehabilitation to help every individual reach their full potential, whether that means returning to competition, work, or simply moving with confidence in everyday life.

Aaliyah’s passion for rehabilitation also stems from her own experience recovering from two ACL reconstructions, which inspired her to help others overcome injury and return stronger than before and get back to the activities they love.

Outside the clinic, Aaliyah enjoys staying active, discovering the best beach walks and coffee spots around Burleigh, and spending time with her whānau.

Aaliyah is available for physiotherapy consults at Sports & Spinal Burleigh.
