Nambour Sports & Spinal offers PhysiotherapyPilates, Podiatry, Women’s Health, Dietetics, Exercise Physiology, Remedial Massage, Hydrotherapy classes and much more! We also have a fully equipped gym and Pilates studio.

The Nambour Sports & Spinal team uses the latest evidence-based treatments to treat various conditions, including shoulder, neck and back pain, sporting injuries, lower limb conditions, women’s health, headaches, work cover incidents, pre-and post-surgical, motor vehicle accidents and more.

Our team will provide you with a comprehensive assessment and treatment from start to finish. Our clinicians will work with YOU to facilitate your complete recovery.

Hayley Aitchison

Physiotherapist

Hayley graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) from the University of Queensland and has recently relocated to the Sunshine Coast from Brisbane. Hayley is a physiotherapist who is dedicated to providing exceptional patient care. She is passionate about all areas of physiotherapy, including acute rehabilitation, neurological rehabilitation, and persistent pain rehabilitation.

Hayley has a background in water polo coaching and has experience working with rugby teams as a sports trainer. Throughout these various roles, Hayley has gained an appreciation for the importance of a holistic approach to healing and well-being.

Hayley believes in empowering patients to take an active role in their rehabilitation journey and focuses on addressing all aspects of recovery. With her brilliant communication skills, commitment to providing excellent care and holistic approach, Hayley is well-equipped to help patients achieve their goals and improve their overall quality of life.

In her spare time, Hayley enjoys spending time outdoors, reading, cooking and travelling.

Lexi Ironside

Women's Health & Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist

Lexi graduated from Bond University with a Doctorate in Physiotherapy in 2016. She has since honed her skills across various physiotherapy disciplines including orthopaedics, pain management, and surgical rehabilitation.

Lexi has a deep passion for women’s health and musculoskeletal rehabilitation. She responsibly addresses all aspects of her client’s well-being and works diligently to create individualised treatment plans. Her aim is to empower clients to achieve lifelong independence and uphold their health with lasting solutions.

Lexi is available for physiotherapy consults at our Nambour clinic.

Jaime Singleton

Women's & Pelvic Health Physiotherapist

With over 15 years of experience in the field of Women’s and Pelvic Health Physiotherapy, Jaime has been fortunate enough to work in the largest Maternity hospital in Australia, liaise alongside specialist Gynecologists, Urogynaecologists, Colorectal surgeons, and Pain Doctors, and treat countless patients across the lifespan from teenage years to the elderly.

Jaime has completed post-graduate study and many advanced courses in pelvic health; taught university students both on an undergraduate and postgraduate level; presented at international conferences; headed the Allied Health teams for Persistent Pelvic Pain clinics in the areas of Endometriosis and Pelvic Mesh injuries, and worked in both the public and private sectors of health and Physiotherapy.
Jaime loves working with all pelvic health clients in helping them to understand their conditions and champion them to take control of their rehabilitation to optimise their outcomes.

Jaime loves working with pelvic pain and post-operative patients; she is qualified to fit pessaries for pelvic organ prolapse management; and is a qualified Level 4 DMA Clinical Pilates instructor as well, so individualised exercise prescription is a large part of her treatment approach.
Outside of work, you’ll find Jaime either spending bulk time with my dogs, at any live music I can find (a sucker for RnB!), or down at the beach, which is why I moved to the beautiful Sunshine Coast!

Ben Hones

Neck & Shoulder Physiotherapist

Ben completed his Physiotherapy degree in New Zealand at the University of Otago in 2010. Since then, he has treated a range of patients in private practice and has developed a clinical interest in treating neck and shoulder conditions.

He supports patients towards their individual goals by supporting his practice with the latest evidence, postgraduate courses, and a holistic approach.

He enjoys all things outdoors, with sporting interests including hiking, surfing, rugby, and martial arts.

Bethany Perkins

Physiotherapist

Beth completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy with Honours at the University of Queensland. Beth is passionate about improving quality of life and helping people with their step-by-step recovery journey. Beth loves treating neck, headache, and vestibular conditions as well as sporting injuries. Discovering the root of an injury is important to Beth and she strives to provide a holistic approach to rehabilitation.

In her spare time, Beth enjoys sports, climbing mountains, beach swims, and sunset picnics.

Trudy Preece

Remedial Massage Therapist

Trudy is a highly skilled and compassionate massage therapist dedicated to providing exceptional therapeutic massage experiences. With over 20 years of experience in the industry, Trudy has developed a keen understanding of the human body and its unique needs.

Trudy is passionate about helping clients achieve their goals and deeply understands various massage techniques.

Clients consistently rave about Trudy’s ability to create a warm and welcoming environment where they feel instantly at ease. Trudy believes that communication and trust are vital in establishing a fruitful therapist-client relationship, and taking the time to understand individual needs and concerns is always a top priority. Clients can trust Trudy’s skill set, whether seeking relief from chronic pain, recovering from an injury, or simply looking to unwind and rejuvenate.

Katherine Hickey

Physiotherapist

Katherine graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours), on a background of a Bachelor of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences (Honours Class IIA) and a Graduate Diploma in Magnetic Resonance Technology. Katherine also completed her Rehab Pilates certification through Studio Pilates which enabled her to work as a clinical Pilates instructor during her studies. In 2022, she worked at the Nitro Circus World Games in Brisbane, preparing athletes for competition in scooter, BMX, FMX, and skateboarding events.

Most recently prior to joining the Sports and Spinal team, Katherine has worked with the physiotherapy students at the University of Queensland preparing them for their final year placements in the musculoskeletal physiotherapy simulation program.

Katherine has a keen interest in musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy with particular areas of interest lying in knees and post-operative rehabilitation from orthopaedic surgery. As a former dancer and dance teacher herself, she is also interested in dance physiotherapy and injury prevention. Katherine firmly believes that exercise is medicine and is passionate about keeping you doing the things that you want to – whether at work or play.

Outside of work, Katherine enjoys spending her time at the beach, traveling, watching Rugby (Union), and is a self-proclaimed foodie. Katherine is new to the Sunshine Coast, having just moved up from Brisbane, and is looking forward to the lifestyle change!

Emily Whitmore

Remedial Massage Therapist

Emily Whitmore graduated from Loughborough University in the United Kingdom in June 2012 achieving a first class honours degree in Sports and Exercise Science. She then went on to complete her Level 5 BTEC Professional Diploma in Clinical Sport and Remedial Massage Therapy at the London School of Sports Massage, qualifying in August 2013. She is also a qualified therapist in advanced Dry Needling.

Since qualifying Emily has worked as a Sports & Remedial Massage Therapist within Physiotherapy clinics in the United Kingdom. Her clinical experience also includes working with British Triathlon at their base in Loughborough; this has involved travelling overseas to training camps and European and World Triathlon events, helping to prevent injury and facilitate recovery from training and competition. Emily also worked as the primary masseuse for the Loughborough Students Elite Rugby Union Team who compete in National League 1.

Emily is available for Remedial Massage appointments at our Nambour clinic.

Katherine Harris

Podiatrist - General Care, Sports & Exercise

Katherine completed her Bachelor of Podiatry at the University of South Australia. After graduating she worked in private practice in Adelaide prior to moving to the beautiful Sunshine Coast. Katherine is passionate about lower limb health and enjoys helping people of all ages and abilities achieve their goals and maintain an active lifestyle.

Katherine is experienced in all areas of podiatry with a particular interest in musculoskeletal conditions, sports injuries and rehabilitation, and ingrown toenail surgery.

Outside of work Katherine loves traveling and spending time in the great outdoors. She is also a keen netballer having played for over 20 years and more recently coaching at a junior level.

Katherine is available for Podiatry appointments at our Coolum and Nambour clinics.

Kim Goei

Podiatrist - General Care, Sports & Exercise

Kim was born and raised on the West coast, completing her Bachelor of Podiatric Medicine at the University of Western Australia. She has a kind, gentle manner with patients, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality care.

During her training, Kim gained valuable experience in Singapore working alongside podiatrists from other countries including the UK, South Africa and New Zealand. After completing her degree, Kim worked in private practice in WA and Victoria before being drawn to the beautiful coastline and hinterland of the Sunshine Coast.

Kim has completed advanced musculoskeletal training with Dr Paul Conneely in the areas of Dry Needling & Foot Mobilisations to aid in the management of lower limb dysfunction. Kim is proficient in delivering all aspects of podiatry care including General Care, Nail Surgery, Sports Injuries and Diabetic Management.

Outside the clinic, Kim enjoys hiking, mountain biking, running & yoga.

Sophie Stewart

Chronic Pain & Back Physiotherapist

Sophie graduated from the University of Queensland with honours in 2010 and has worked in private practice ever since. Sophie has an immense passion for physiotherapy and believes in a holistic approach to patient care with great importance on active rehabilitation and education towards long-term self-management. Her passion lies in rehabilitation from chronic conditions, persistent pain and rehabilitation during and after cancer treatment.

The evidence is overwhelming to indicate that a multidisciplinary approach to treatment yields the best outcomes for patients. Therefore, Sophie places great importance on communication between the patient, physio and all health professionals involved in the recovery process. Sophie believes this team approach will ensure the best possible outcome and care for her patients.

Jordan Coonan

Exercise Physiologist

Jordan grew up playing a variety of sports, with cricket and basketball being the most prominent. He developed a strong interest in musculoskeletal rehabilitation after suffering an ankle injury that ruled him out of a year of sports. He turned this injury into a passion to rehabilitate and assist people to return to pain-free lifestyles and live happy healthy lifestyles.

Jordan graduated from James Cook University in Townsville in 2017 with a bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology. He has had a history of working with chronic pain, sub-acute injuries as well as various neurological, cardiac, and metabolic conditions.

Outside of work, Jordan loves to train at the gym, spend time with his dog, play video games, hang out with friends and explore the area.

Kale Hoggins

Exercise Physiologist

Kale graduated from La Trobe University in Bendigo with a bachelor of exercise science and a master of exercise physiology. Placement opportunities took him to the country and metropolitan Melbourne, where he could sharpen his skills with a wide range of chronic conductions. Kale joins the team, having worked in private practice in Victoria’s surf coast before seeking the warmer weather and water of QLD.

Kale is respectful, empathetic and easy to get along with and believes that results and relationships are crucial factors as an exercise physiologist. He is particularly passionate about musculoskeletal rehabilitation, functional movement patterns and improving quality of life.

In his spare time, Kale enjoys AFL and cricket as a supporter and a player, trying his best to catch a wave and spending time outdoors.

Caitlin Follett

Paediatric, Gut Health, Women’s Health & Diabetes Dietitian

Caitlin is an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) who uses her empathetic and compassionate approach with clients to support them with their nutrition goals. She enjoys seeing many clients with a range of conditions, and keeps up to date with the latest recommendations and evidence to support safe and individualised nutrition recommendations.

In addition to supporting those with gut health problems, eating disorders, malnutrition, intolerances, and many other conditions, Caitlin has a special interest in paediatric nutrition and fussy eaters. She has completed her Certificate of Paediatric Nutrition and Dietetics through the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, and is a qualified SOS Feeding Therapist.

Caitlin is passionate about supporting even the littlest of clients to develop life-long skills to support proper nutrition and develop a positive relationship with food. She works closely with clients, their families and carers and takes great pride in improving not just the client’s experience with food, but also helping the bigger support network along the feeding and eating journey too.

Caitlin has experience working with paediatric clients with ASD, ADHD, sensory processing difficulties, faltering growth, global underdevelopment, eating disorders, cerebral palsy and more. She is also able to support those requiring enteral or parenteral nutrition (tube feeding). Caitlin understands that discussing food and nutrition may be confronting for some clients or their families, and works with people at their own pace.

Caitlin is available for appointments at our Kawana and Nambour Sports & Spinal clinics and for home visits through Total Rehab Solutions.
