Alex Rachcoff

Lower Limb & Post-Op Rehab

Since graduating from James Cook University, Alex has gained considerable experience working in private practice in Brisbane and on the Sunshine Coast.

After gaining invaluable skills in the treatment of lower back and lower limb injuries, Alex moved to the UK where he worked in the National Health Service in Oxford and Derbyshire.

Since returning to the Sunshine Coast, Alex has resumed his special interest in lower limb injuries and post-op rehabilitation, and is committed to achieving optimal patient satisfaction and return to pre-injury fitness.

David Stevens

Headaches & Shoulder Rehab

Since qualifying as a Physiotherapist in 2002 David has worked in both the NHS and the private sector treating a variety of acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. Using a holistic approach he is able to tailor treatment to the individual and their goals. His areas of expertise are Cervicogenic headaches and shoulder injury. Working closely with shoulder surgeons in the UK has given David a sound understanding of the role that Physiotherapy has in the management and rehabilitation of complex shoulder conditions.

Jana Rydwanski

Lower Limb & Needling

Jana studied in New Zealand and graduated with a Bachelors in Health Science majoring in Physiotherapy in 2006 from AUT, completed her Postgraduate Diploma in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy in 2010 and a Master of Health Practice in 2011. She worked in New Zealand for five years before coming to Australia, during which time she has been the physiotherapist for Rugby teams and also ran gym-based rehabilitation programs. She has the honour of having an article published in the international physiotherapy journal, Physical Therapy Reviews. Jana believes in a holistic approach to injury and management, is highly dedicated to exercise, and regularly attends further training to ensure that her clinical skills and knowledge are kept up-to-date.

Simon Burley

Shoulder Pain Rehabilitation

Simon Burley has developed expertise in shoulder conditions over many years of postgraduate training. He has completed level III Sports Physiotherapy at the Australian Institute of Sport. Simon also runs the Sunshine Coast Shoulder Clinic with some of the Coast’s leading orthopaedic surgeons.

“The shoulder is a complex and challenging joint that is very reliant on the surrounding musculature working properly. Hence a joint particularly suited to physiotherapy treatment when injured or painful.” Simon Burley

Simon also sets up exercise programs for weight loss and fitness/strength training. He works closely with the Coast’s leading medical team for patients undergoing lapband surgery.

Simon was the physio for the New Zealand Track and Field athletes as they prepared for the Sydney 2000 Olympics and is the physio for a number of well-known athletes on the Sunshine Coast.

Adam Horwitz

Shoulder & Neck Rehab

Adam Horwitz completed his Master of Physiotherapy degree at The University of Sydney, following completion of a degree in Exercise and Sport Science. He developed a keen interest in physiotherapy as a young athlete overcoming injuries when competing in football, rugby union and martial arts.

He has a passion for assessment and treatment of shoulder conditions in particular. He also has a keen interest in treating the neck and headache conditions involving the cervical spine. With his experience as a sports trainer and Pilates instructor, he strives to help his clients control their pain and achieve their functional goals.

Danielle Keogh

Low Back & Hip/Pelvic Pain

Danielle has developed expertise in accurate diagnosis and treatment of low back and hip pain and regularly attends national and international conferences dedicated to these areas to stay up to date with research and current evidence for optimal patient care and positive outcomes.

Danielle is very passionate about exercise rehabilitation and helping people return to their optimal physical and mental health through the use of Pilates. Danielle is experienced in identifying biomechanical dysfunction and using exercise specific techniques ensuring great outcomes. In her spare time Danielle is an avid horse rider, competing in dressage competitions with her two horses.

Erin Man

Musculoskeletal Physio

Before completing her Master of Physiotherapy Studies at the University of Queensland, Erin graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology and Health Sciences from York University in Toronto, Canada.

Erin utilises a multi-faceted approach tailored to each individual, with a focus on identifying the source of dysfunction and pain, and developing a personalised treatment plan through cooperation and teamwork with her patients. Erin’s goal through treatment is to return her clients to their passion, whether that’s sport, work, or just getting back to their normal life.

Erin is actively continuing her studies in manual therapy, exercise prescription and additional courses to improve her skill set and service delivery.

Julia Wilson

Musculoskeletal Physio

After graduating with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in Melbourne, Julia was able to gain experience in  Australia, Wales, and the UK. Through this time, Julia has developed a love of treating a diverse range of patients from athletes to the elderly, but more recently has found a passion for treating Women’s Health conditions and focuses a lot of her professional development in this area. In particular, Julia enjoys helping women through their pregnancies and works a lot with women to help ease pain through this time. “I am passionate about helping and educating clients to maximise their quality of life and strive to facilitate self-management for the most optimal recovery”. In her spare time, Julia is often at the beach enjoying the warm weather and trying to learn to surf.”

Tenikka Mogno

Exercise Physiologist

Tenikka completed her Clinical Exercise Science Degree at the University of the Sunshine Coast with a passion to help people manage their chronic disease or injury through evidence based exercise prescription and education. Tenikka has a special interest in working with people with Type 2 Diabetes, osteoporosis and low back pain. Her positive and welcoming attitude makes you feel at ease through your journey of recovery and a healthier lifestyle.

Dianne O’Donnell

Remedial Massage Therapist

Di has worked for Sports and Spinal since 2008, and every day she sees the real benefits of a regular soft deep tissue massage. She has always been passionate about her work: treating sports injuries, pregnancy massages and pre and post-surgery treatments.

Di has a special interest in deep tissue, relaxation, trigger point therapy and lymphatic massages. She also has a keen interest in neck and back injuries but enjoys treating all areas of the body.

Di works alongside every physio at Sports & Spinal to assist in a patient’s recovery to a life of better health. Di believes it doesn’t matter how old you are or your level of fitness, everyone will benefit from a remedial massage.

Sophie Crundall

Dietitian

Sophie is a longstanding member of the Sports and Spinal team. Joining us in 2012, Sophie worked on our administration team while she completed a bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of the Sunshine Coast. Sophie joins our clinical team at Sports and Spinal, adding another dimension to the already outstanding multidisciplinary team. With a passion for food and a healthy lifestyle, Sophie can help you achieve your health and wellbeing goals by providing individualised, evidence-based dietary advice. In collaboration with our Exercise Physiologists, Sophie will be an integral part of the Diabetes Health and New You Programs.

Outside of work, Sophie enjoys spending time with family and friends, sharing her passion for food through cooking and baking and making the most of the beautiful Sunshine Coast.

Tim Boyle

Podiatrist

Tim graduated from the Queensland University of Technology as a Podiatrist in 2006. He has gained valuable experience over the last eight years working in a multidisciplinary sports medicine clinic. Within this setting, Tim had the pleasure of working alongside medical & allied health professionals including Sports Doctors, Physiotherapists, and Massage Therapists.

Tim enjoys a broad scope of podiatry including sports injuries of the lower limb, biomechanical assessments, gait analysis, orthotic therapy, footwear assessments and recommendations, diabetic foot assessments and treatment of conditions of the toenails and skin.  Tim is particularly passionate about running biomechanics and footwear advice/prescription, a special interest that commenced through his strong interest in athletics and involvement in the footwear industry.

Over the years Tim has treated a number of senior and junior athletes from a range of different sports, including 2 years treating both the Brisbane Roar and Brisbane Roar youth teams.

Tim is a sports enthusiast himself having been involved in a number of sports from a young age competing at a state level in Athletics and Basketball.

Kellie Palmer

Podiatrist

Kellie graduated from the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) with a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science (Podiatry) in 2012 and has been working in general, private practice for over 4 years.

Kellie has a passion for treating musculoskeletal conditions and injuries of the lower limb. Kellie feels injury recurrence and injury prevention is possible with appropriate footwear and orthotic therapy in some instances.

Over the years Kellie has also developed a keen interest in paediatric podiatry, involving herself with seminars and further research for her continuing development in this niche field.
