An advocate for movement and well-being, Emma maintains an active lifestyle herself, enjoying running, netball, touch football, and even the occasional attempt at surfing. Her firsthand experience with sports has fueled her interest in injury prevention, rehabilitation, and supporting others in staying active.
Known for her friendly and approachable nature, Emma values building strong rapport with her clients. She takes the time to listen to their concerns, collaborate on tailored solutions, and work toward achieving the outcomes that matter most to them.

Leigh-Ann Bennett
Physiotherapist
In 2018, Leigh-Ann graduated from Auckland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Health Science (Physiotherapy). After university she returned back to her hometown Tauranga, New Zealand, and started working in private practice, over these years she did a combination of clinic work and assisting ample sports teams with their Physiotherapy needs. In February 2023, she made the move across the ditch and has been at Sports & Spinal ever since.
Leigh-Ann loves working with people from all walks of life, helping to enhance mobility and strength, reduce pain and ultimately help them to lead a more active and rewarding lifestyle. She has a keen interest in sports injuries, post-operative rehabilitation, and knee injuries.
When she is not in the clinic, Leigh-Ann enjoys getting outside and keeping active. She is very excited to be living on the Sunshine Coast and being able to explore this beautiful part of the world.

Hamish Bruckner
Physiotherapist
Originally from Victoria, Hamish recently joined the team after relocating to the Sunshine Coast. He completed his Doctor of Physiotherapy at Bond University before spending several years working on the Gold Coast. During that time, he gained experience across a wide range of musculoskeletal and sports related conditions, with a strong focus on helping people get back to doing the things they love.
Hamish is passionate about creating tailored treatment plans that fit each individualās lifestyle and goalsāwhether thatās returning to sport, staying active at work, or improving overall mobility and function.
Outside the clinic, Hamish enjoys running, playing golf, and travelling whenever he can. He is a loyal Brisbane Lions supporter and is always up for a chat about footy or the weekendās sport.

Alex has gained valuable experience in treating foot, ankle, shoulder, knee and spinal conditions from his years of working in Private and Public rehab in Australia and the UK. Since returning to the Sunshine Coast he extensively treats post-operative and non-operative patients from some of the best specialists from Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast. Using a holistic approach, Alex can tailor treatment to the individual and their goals.

Emily Abbott
Women's Health & Continence Physiotherapist
Emily first completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy (First Class Honours) in 2018 in Perth, with her passion forĀ women’s health physiotherapy starting in 2020 during several years of working in hospital settings treating a broad range of patient conditions.Ā She has since gone on to complete several postgraduate courses in Pelvic Health, including a Graduate Certificate in Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy at the University of Melbourne.
While originally from WA, Emily has enjoyed living inĀ the Sunshine Coast since early 2022 when she first joined our Sports & Spinal team. You’ll often find her outdoors enjoying nature – camping, paddle boarding or walking through a rainforest!Ā Her passion for all things pelvic health, combined withĀ her warm and friendly personality, is a source of encouragement for allĀ her patients and matched by her drive to see excellent results via a comprehensiveĀ and methodical treatment approach.
Emily can treat and assist in antenatal and postnatal management, prolapse, reduced bladderĀ and bowel control, bladder and bowel pain, pelvic pain conditions (e.g.Ā painful intercourse, menstrual pain, endometriosis, interstitial cystitis); and rehabilitation support for gynaecological surgeries.

Di has worked for Sports & Spinal since 2008, and every day she sees the real benefits of a regular soft, deep-tissue massage. She has always been passionate about treating sports injuries, pregnancy massages, and pre and post-surgery treatments.
Di has a special interest in deep tissue, relaxation, trigger point therapy, and lymphatic massages. She also has a keen interest in neck and back injuries but enjoys treating all areas of the body.
Di works alongside every physio at Sports & Spinal to assist in a patientās recovery to a life of better health. Di believes it doesnāt matter how old you are or your fitness level; everyone will benefit from a remedial massage.

Jamie Ivers
Podiatrist
Jamie IversĀ is a passionate podiatrist who graduated with a degree in Podiatry from the Queensland University of Technology. Prior to pursuing podiatry, Jamie completed a Bachelor of Business Management in 2019, majoring in International Business. With over six years of hands-on experience in the orthotic industry, Jamie has worked extensively in an orthotic lab, manufacturing and finishing custom orthotics.
Jamie has a deep interest in human movement and biomechanics, particularly in how they relate to overall health and well-being. He is particularly passionate about educating patients on the importance of proactive foot care, with a focus on preventing complications related to diabetes and enhancing quality of life through proper management of foot health.
A sports enthusiast, Jamie currently plays AFL, enjoys running, and stays active attending the gym regularly. Jamie is always excited about the intersection of sports and health and is happy to chat anything sports related.

Ainslee graduated from Charles Sturt University with a Bachelor of Podiatric Medicine (Honours) and has been working in private practice since.
Ainslee completed her honours research in the biomechanical field with her paper ‘The effect of dynamic movement tasks on the restrictive properties of rigid strapping tape’, being presented at the 2019 Australian Podiatry Conference. With a passion for all things lower limb, Ainslee has a special interest in musculoskeletal conditions, biomechanics, injury prevention, and footwear prescription/advice. Outside of Podiatry, Ainslee is a keen netballer and enjoys all things sport-related.

Danielle is very passionate about exercise rehabilitation and helping people return to their optimal physical and mental health through Pilates. Danielle is experienced in identifying biomechanical dysfunction and using exercise specific techniques ensuring great outcomes. Danielle is an avid horse rider in her spare time, competing in dressage competitions with her two horses.

Brooke Svensson
Exercise Physiologist
Brooke completed her Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology at the University of the Sunshine Coast. With previous personal training experience, Brooke finds that her strengths are motivating and uplifting her clients to create a positive exercise environment. She prioritises good communication and collaboration, where she takes the time to understand her clients. This is so that the exercise prescription can be tailored to her clientās lifestyle and specific to their needs. She loves to see her clients achieve their short- and long-term goals.
Ultimately, Brooke wants to empower her clients through exercise and education to assist with independent living and an increased capacity to do every day and recreational activities.
She has a commitment to her learning and enjoys expanding her skills, where she completed her Cert IV in Pilates Mat and Reformer Instructing through Breathe Education. Her Pilates experience opens opportunity for her clients to select different modes of exercise to assist with their rehabilitation.
Outside of the clinic, Brooke loves the gym and an active lifestyle, but also loves her down time at the beach.

Bree graduated form the University of Southern Queensland with a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise majoring in Exercise Science and Clinical Exercise Physiology.

Bree has always lived a busy and active lifestyle, mainly through gymnastics, swimming, athletics, dancing, and cheerleading. Some of which she continues to enjoy to this day. She also enjoys a regular walk at the beach or in the bush and a good TV show or movie to watch.

Bree loves that exercise can be a fun and social way to improve our health and well-being for the short and long term and enjoys watching her client’s confidence grow quickly over time. Exercise can also be something that we share with our friends and family and does not need to be hard or a chore to be rewarding. Bree enjoys getting to know my clients, which helps her assist them as an individual and as a whole person to give them exercise plans that are best suited for their individual needs. Bree’s aim as an Exercise Physiologist is to help her clients reach their health and fitness goals and beyond so that they can live long happy, healthy, and active lives.

Caitlin has been practicing massage therapy since 2015 after achieving her Diploma of Remedial Massage at Armidale. In 2018, Caitlin expanded her skill set into a variety of complementary techniques to best tailor massage to meet her clientās goals and needs. These include: Deep tissue, Dry needling, Myofascial Cupping, relaxation and IASTM (RockBlades), Manual Lymphatic Drainage and pregnancy massage.
Caitlin’s clientās are always her top priority to ensure their massage expectations are met. This is achieved by creating a safe and comfortable environment, actively listening to clients concerns, discussing treatment options and employing evidence-based massage techniques.
Caitlin is looking forward to exploring all the Sunshine Coast has to offer and pursuing her current interests of outdoor photography, travelling, and looking after her two dogs.

Candice is passionate about supporting her clients along their journey to reaching optimal health through food and nutrition. Shortly after graduating from the University of the Sunshine Coast, she chose to start her dietetic career in private practice as she enjoys working closely alongside her clients and seeing the wonderful impact healthy lifestyle changes can make. Candice is committed to empowering and building her client’s confidence in making lifelong changes by providing personalised nutrition education and setting realistic goals.
She welcomes all types of clients and has a special interest in weight management, chronic disease management, and gastrointestinal health.

Johnny graduated from James Cook University in 2019 and specialises in musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy, also providing tailored care for clients under the NDIS. He loves helping people achieve ambitious goals, whether itās returning to running, kayaking, or even picking up fishing again.
In 2022, Johnny became Clinical Mentor & Sports Medicine Coordinator for the Solomon Islands Institute of Sport, supporting athletes across 22+ sports for the 2023 Pacific Games, often treating under coconut trees, a career highlight! Heās also a qualified Strength & Conditioning Level 1 Coach, trained in Western Acupuncture and Dry Needling.
