Shannon Chan

Shannon completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) at the University of Queensland with first class honours. She enjoys working with a wide range of clients and has a particular interest in shoulder injuries, lower back pain, and running-related injuries.

Shannon is passionate about empowering her patients to return to doing what they love with confidence and long-term results. As a recreational runner and hybrid athlete, she understands the demands of training and enjoys helping patients get back to activity safely and effectively.

She has worked as a sports medic for the Southwest Metro Pirates (NBL1) and travelled internationally with the Brian Kerle Basketball Academy. Shannon also completed her university placement with the Queensland Firebirds, where she developed skills in injury management and high-performance rehabilitation.

As a former ballet dancer whose career was impacted by chronic back pain, Shannon brings a personal understanding of injury and recovery. Her clinical approach focuses on evidence-based rehabilitation, movement optimisation, and patient education, combining hands-on treatment with tailored exercise programs to support long-term outcomes and self-management. She has also completed Levels 1–3 Clinical Pilates Equipment certification, which forms a key part of her treatment approach.

Shannon also speaks Cantonese and Mandarin, supporting a diverse range of clients to feel comfortable and understood throughout their care.

Outside of the clinic, you’ll find Shannon running along the Brisbane River, training for her next Hyrox or half-marathon, or heading to the beach on weekends.

Shannon is available for Physiotherapy appointments at Sports & Spinal Indooroopilly.
