Sports & Spinal Burleigh is located in Treetops Square at 10B/2 Classic Way, Burleigh Waters, QLD 4220. The clinic is conveniently located near Burleigh Heads, West Burleigh, Varsity Lakes, Burleigh Waters, Palm Beach, Tallebudgera, Reedy Creek, Miami, Elanora and Mudgeeraba.

With an emphasis on core conditioning, breathing and body awareness, our Core, Strength & Mobility classes are a safe and highly effective way to stretch, strengthen and streamline your body without building bulk or stressing your joints.

Core, Strength & Mobility classes utilise various exercises that incorporate balance, power, strength and stability.

This can be done either using the Pilates equipment (reformer, trapeze table, exercise ball etc.) in a CSM Studio class or the form of a Mat Class, utilising bodyweight and minimal equipment. From here, we build and progress your program as appropriate with continued advice and education throughout, so you left feeling a better version of YOU.

Our Core, Strength & Mobility classes are a fitness regime for life, performed on a mat or with specialised equipment. The perfect complement to cardiovascular exercise, sport, rehab and life, these classes will leave you looking toned, feeling revitalised and moving with ease.

Both Physiotherapists and Exercise Physiologists run our classes with Clinical Pilates Experience. Clinical Pilates refers to one-on-one Pilates that are often used for injury rehabilitation and used in conjunction with physiotherapy. Sports & Spinal offers both and can cater to your exact needs. Exercises progress gradually, enabling safe and sustainable improvements.

All patients are required to have an initial assessment with a Physiotherapist or Exercise Physiologist before beginning any of our classes. This is to familiarise patients with any equipment, positions, and exercises and identify any injuries/restrictions that we may need to be aware of prior to a patient attending a class.

Sports & Spinal Burleigh is NDIS registered and accepts Medicare rebates and HICAPS health fund claims. EFTPOS and credit card facilities are also available for payment.

Core, Strength & Mobility classes are perfect for toning and reshaping the body. It works on creating long, lean muscles, toning all of those hard to target areas such as the abdominals, inner thighs, buttocks, back of thighs, sides and backs of the arms. For toning, these classes are best performed 3 to 5 times a week through a combination of studio sessions, mat classes and home exercises.

Pilates exercises are performed through a wide range of movements and work on lengthening the muscles at the same time as strengthening them. To increase flexibility, stretching exercises need to be performed daily.

The Clinical Pilates exercises used in our Core, Strength & Mobility classes focus on strengthening the weakened postural muscles and stretching the tight muscles that pull the body into these poor postures. Studio sessions are the best way to improve posture as our physiotherapists can develop a program to target your specific postural problems. Pilates can also be used for back pain as it relaxes and strengthens the muscles, easing the discomfort.

Our Core, Strength & Mobility classes use Clinical Pilates techniques which are fantastic for injury rehabilitation and prevention as it works on core stability, posture, flexibility, and correcting muscle imbalances and weaknesses via specific strengthening. It can be used for arthritis, neck pain, back pain and various injuries.

Pilates is the secret tool that many high level and recreational athletes use to enhance their performance, decrease the risk of injuries and provide much-needed cross-training. Each sport has specific strength and flexibility requirements. When you book in for an assessment, your physiotherapist will look at the things you need to work on to improve your performance and then proceed to design a Pilates program for you.

What Burleigh Patients Say

★★★★★

From the moment you walk in you feel comfortable being here. I have been to a few physios around the coast but Sports and Spinal Burleigh exceeded my expectations. I have been seen for headaches, back pain and most recently a nasty shoulder injury and they have been amazing. Saw Aaliyah yesterday and my pain has almost gone. Highly recommended

I am back to walking the golf course, thanks to Alex’s expertise and care. Instead of rushing into surgery, Alex suggested an alternative that has worked well for me. While a knee replacement may be in my future, it is fortunately not imminent. Alex’s expert knowledge of a golfer’s body mechanics comes from being a single-figure handicap golfer himself. Combined with his golf-specific physiotherapy training, he is well-equipped to help any golfer maximize their potential through targeted care and exercises. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Alex and the great team at Burleigh Sports & Spinal.

As far as I’m concerned Alex is an absolute genius, and such a caring and thoughtful professional. He fixed my plantar fasciitis last year when I thought it was hopeless. He’s worked with my husband and managed to diagnose something super random with his hamstring. He’s now working his magic on my knee. I’ve really appreciated the way he stays up to date on the latest research and really listens to what’s going on.

The new premises at Burleigh are just lovely and the whole team are so friendly. I’m forever recommending Alex to people (even if they aren’t injured!).

After a good 6 months of pain every time I exercised weight training I decided to book in here to be assessed.

From the get go Brad had so much knowledge and he instantly knew how to treat my back and shoulder pain. After implementing his training program and certain exercises, I noticed a HUGE improvement in just one week.

I honestly can’t recommend his services any higher (and the whole team). Thanks to Brad I am back training in the gym pain free and will continue making his program a permanent part of my training routine.

Wow, what a great team at Burleigh Sports and Spinal.
Alex the physiotherapist and Mahalia the exercise physiologist know their stuff and worked together to develop my personal exercise program to help me regain my strength and balance. The group pilaties classes are a great place for me to implement my prescribed exercises under their supervision.
Great work and a massive thank you cheers Pip

Hi, Mahalia at Burleigh many many thanks for your devotion to your job and clients.
Because of Mahalia’s exceptional understanding of how our muscles all work together and how to apply her extensive knowledge of how to safely and progressively extend my range of movement and strength my stability on my feet has greatly improved.

I do a combination of Pilates, weights and balance exercises specifically targeted to meet my needs.

How do we know? Because after 12 weeks we have just repeated my assessment tests to log my actual progress and wow I’ve really improved my balance and strength I’m thrilled and so very thankful that I’m no longer a high risk candidate for a fall.
Three cheers for Mahalia you are 💯🎉🤩

I started seeing Alex Dopper at Sports & Spinal after injuring my back, and my MRI showed a bulged disc. Finding a physiotherapist you trust can be tricky, but from the very start, Alex has been nothing but kind and compassionate. He brings a wealth of knowledge that makes you feel completely at ease, especially when dealing with a back injury. I truly owe so much to him! I would recommend Alex to anyone and everyone looking for an exceptional physiotherapist.
