Jo Gooderson

Jo has been working in the health and wellness industry for over 20 years. She graduated from Griffith University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Exercise Science, and a Master of Physiotherapy degree.

Jo has worked in a wide range of settings from Elite Sports, private practice and Acute Hospitals in Australia and England, and spent 10 years working with the Ministry of Defence at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS) as well as other Barracks in England and Germany. She is passionate about building a holistic team approach to health, where everyone is collocated and committed to delivering the highest level of care. Jo has completed further training in Acupuncture and Pilates and is passionate about correcting movement patterns and motor control issues for athletes and general rehabilitation.

She later became interested in more complex conditions such as chronic pain and hypermobility syndrome. Jo works closely with other members of her healthcare team to manage these conditions and provide clients with better management strategies.

Jo lives in Manly with her family and growing menagerie, and can often be spotted walking the dogs on the esplanade. She has competed at a high level in athletics, touch football, netball, basketball and martial arts in her time, but now prefers pilates and yoga.

Jo’s professional qualifications include a Master of Physiotherapy (Griffith University), Bachelor of Exercise Science (Griffith University), PhD (withdrawn) Bond University, Pilates instructor (mat and equipment), Acupuncture (AACP), and Previous level 2 Strength and conditioning certification.

Jo is available for physiotherapy consults at our Wynnum clinic.
