Conveniently located near Toowong, Kenmore, St. Lucia, Chelmer, Chapel Hill, Sherwood and Taringa and other surrounding suburbs, our clinic provides professional exercise physiology services to support long-term strength, health and recovery.

An Exercise Physiologist (EP) is a 4 year, University-trained Allied Health professional who is an exercise prescription expert. Your Exercise Physiologist will work with you to design an individualised program tailored to your current capacity, medical background and personal goals. Treatment focuses on building strength, endurance, mobility and confidence through safe, progressive exercise.

Sports & Spinal’s accredited Exercise Physiologist can assist with Diabetes & Obesity, General Health & Wellbeing, Mental Health Issues, Musculoskeletal Injuries, Neurological Conditions, Strength & Conditioning, Women’s Health, Aging, Chronic Pain, Fatigue, Cardiovascular, Pulmonary, Paediatrics and Cancer.

Our Exercise Physiologists at Sports & Spinal can help your condition by working with you to formulate an appropriate treatment plan to assist in reaching your specific goals. Exercise Physiologists use movement and exercise in conjunction with specific education and motivational guidance to treat and manage your conditions.

Your initial sessions will include a detailed, goal-focused assessment looking at how you move, your current physical capacity and any limitations affecting daily life. From there, your program is progressed gradually, ensuring exercises remain appropriate as your strength and tolerance improve.

Treatment may take place in a variety of environments depending on your goals, including our onsite gym, your regular gym, hydrotherapy pools or home-based programs. Education is a key part of care, helping you understand what supports your recovery and what may slow it down.

Our Exercise Physiologists work within a multidisciplinary team and may collaborate with physiotherapists, podiatrists and other health professionals when needed to provide coordinated care.

Sports & Spinal Indooroopilly is NDIS registered and accepts Medicare rebates and HICAPS health fund claims. EFTPOS and credit card facilities are also available for payment.

My physio, Simran, has been fantastic in helping me recover from my shoulder pain. She truly has magic hands — after every massage session, I felt much better. She quickly identified the issue, created a personalized treatment plan, and guided me through each session with patience and clarity. I’ve noticed a big improvement in my mobility and comfort. Highly recommended!

Simran was amazing and so caring. Extremely thorough with explaining everything and even made the worst case scenarios sound a lot less scary!
Maddie at the front desk is lovely and looks after you from the moment you walk in the door till the second you leave. Couldn’t recommend Indooroopilly sports and spinal enough!

The whole experience here was 5-star! All the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, I received a massage from Destiny for shoulder/neck pain and knee tendonitis and she was extremely helpful in both areas, always checking if the pressure was okay with very targetted massage techniques, she was also willing to give advice on the best recovery methods, I feel significantly better now! I’ve had remedial massages my entire life and this has easily yielded the best results, I will be returning for any problem areas and general maintenance!!! HIGHLY recommend!

I have been working with Tom for a few months now and I’m very impressed with the knowledge and professionalism he brings to my sessions.
Tom has enabled me to understand the mechanics behind my injury which has been pivotal in my progression and rehabilitation. I highly recommend seeing Tom for anyone injury or rehab concerns you have!

I’ve been a regular patient of this clinic for 15 years as I have chronic limitations in movement and and under medical advice, lift heavy weights to stabilise my metabolism. The Practice Principal, Paul Fien, has done long ‘hands on’ appointments with me at least once a week for the last 8 years, working on joint and soft tissue rehabilitation of my shoulders and neck, upper and lower back, hips, legs, knees, heels and ankles, arms and hands – at various times subject to my immediate priorities.
He is constantly reviewing the approach we’re taking to optimise my progress. Sometimes. my body can be slow to respond or perhaps ‘throw us a curve ball’. Paul continues to persevere and to think laterally about treatment options. He is always courteous, thorough and professional.
He listens carefully to my feedback and treats me as an equal partner in this healing journey.
In addition, I have severe chemical sensitivities, which are accommodated by the practice, including by not using cleaning chemicals within the clinic environment while I’m there.
Paul makes himself available when an emergency occurs and is ably supported at all times by his other professional and office staff.
Over the last 18 months, I’ve been recovering from a severe fall (including adverse impacts on brain function from concussion). Paul has worked gently through the associated CNS and functional challenges, especially the intense fear I’ve experienced, and we’re making excellent progress.
I highly recommend Paul Fien and this practice for its approach, professionalism and excellence, quality of service, and caring/compassion.

After sustaining a relatively bad ankle sprain, I wanted a sports-specific physio to optimise recovery and get me back running asap. I’ve had several injuries needing urgent attention & always feel accommodated. Tom has always taken my recoveries seriously and fortunately now has been helping with preventative physiotherapy. Always professional and realistic yet optimistic timelines are communicated. I would definitely give this practice a go.

My experience was great with Paul. Very knowledgeable and professional. I left feeling so much better and with a pathway to full recovery clearly communicated.

Cannot recommend enough, the entire team are wonderful. Paul and Sim have both helped me with physio, Carla is an experienced and excellent at remedial massage and Elise does a great job as EP with Pilates. Always a pleasure to be welcomed by Maddie as well. Thank you all.

Followed them from UQ because of the personal investment in my care and consistent quality and ease of access.

Currently seeing Simran for a sprained ankle and plantar fasciitis flare up.

She’s been great in taking the time to understand a complex reoccurring injury and I’m already seeing so much improvement.

I have been seeing Paul on and off for a for years now, originally for a running injury and now post natal niggles, and couldn’t recommend him and his team enough! We refer all our friends and family and they have never left disappointed or without a good result.

Paul is genuine with his advice, knowledgeable and experienced in his practise, and generous with his time! His long term clients are a testament to his skill set.

The clinic is friendly, accommodating and all staff members are extremely approachable!

I suffered some mysterious kind of leg and/or spinal injury, literally waking up in the worst pain of my life. I went to emergency at the hospital and saw a doctor a few days later. Nobody knew what was really wrong, nor how to fix it. The doctor suggested trying a physio. So we looked around, found Sports & Spinal were close to us and had good reviews.

Well, after two sessions I could walk without crutches. After three sessions Paul identified exactly where the problem was (L3-4 in my spine), gave me methods for relieving the pain and exercises to help with recovery.

I’m writing this in the waiting room of S&S, having walked here from my home, quite a few blocks away. I got here early because I expected to take a lot longer to walk that distance. That’s how much good it has done me. Not 100% cured, of course, but so much better than a month ago. All the staff are friendly, helpful and professional.

I absolutely recommend Sports & Spinal Indooroopilly.

Strong, slow, and controlled. Pilates offers small moves with a big impact! 💪🏼

Grip strength: it’s not just about winning bragging rights in the clinic (although, that’s definitely a bonus!) 💪

Strong grip strength is also a key indicator of overall health. Research shows people with stronger grips often experience better health outcomes, faster rehab, and even improved cognitive function as they age. It’s a simple way to track progress, guide strength training, and monitor rehabilitation.

Big thanks to the legends at @coolum_sportsandspinal for this clip, the team has some serious grip strength!
