The Indooroopilly Sports & Spinal team uses the latest evidence-based treatments to treat various conditions, including shoulder, neck and back pain, sporting injuries, lower limb conditions, women’s health, headaches, work cover incidents, pre-and post-surgical, motor vehicle accidents and more.
Our team will provide you with a comprehensive assessment and treatment from start to finish. Our clinicians will work with YOU to facilitate your complete recovery.
Sports & Spinal Indooroopilly is NDIS registered and accepts Medicare rebates and HICAPS health fund claims. EFTPOS and credit card facilities are also available for payment.

Parking:
Parking is available on site at 31 Station Rd. When you arrive, please press the buzzer on the bollard to the right as you approach the gate. A friendly member of our admin team will welcome you and open the gate for you. Please head to the back of the car park where you will find assigned parking for Sports & Spinal. There is an elevator back towards the gate, head up to level 1 where you will find the clinic and our friendly team ready to welcome you.

Simran Shah

Simran holds a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) and was eager to complete further specialised study and recently completed her Masters in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy from the University of Queensland.
Simran has developed a particular interest in complex whiplash disorders and lower limb injuries specifically sports related knee, ankle and foot conditions. She has extensive experience in using a mixed approach of hands-on therapy and tailored exercise prescription to ensure that each of her patients achieves their goals. Simran has worked with some of Queensland’s leading physiotherapists and lower limb specialists.
Simran prides herself on developing easy to follow step by step treatment plans that not only rehabilitate the original injury but ensure her patients leave with their risk of re-injury being as low as possible. Simran enjoys travelling and has volunteered/studied as a physiotherapy student or physiotherapist in several countries across the world and loves treating people from all walks of life.
Simran has also completed additional training in vestibular physiotherapy and lower limb tendon injury management.

Shannon Chan
Physiotherapist
Shannon holds a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) from the University of Queensland. She has completed her clinical Pilates certification, which played a key role in her own recovery from persistent lower back pain and now forms an integral part of her treatment approach. Shannon has worked as a sports trainer for the Southwest Metro Pirates and had a placement at the Queensland Firebirds during her studies.
Shannon is passionate about helping all individuals stay active through injury and return to doing what they love with confidence and resilience. As a former ballet dancer whose career was cut short by chronic back pain, Shannon pursued physiotherapy to share the love of movement with others to help them discover their true potential. She values movement-based rehabilitation and empowering patients to take ownership of their recovery through evidence-based care that involves tailored manual therapy and exercise techniques.
Outside of the clinic, you will find Shannon running along the Brisbane river with some friends or at the gym training for her next Hyrox or half-marathon. If the weather allows, you can often find Shannon at the beach on the weekends.

Paul Fien
Physiotherapist: Mid and Lower Back, Pelvis and Hips
Principal physiotherapist and practice owner Paul Fien has extensive experience in sports and musculoskeletal practice. Paul’s many years of practical experience have exposed him to a broad range of acute and long-term injuries – with Paul particularly enjoying the challenge of complex chronic injury recovery and management.
Paul has lead physiotherapy services for St George Rugby League and the University of Queensland Red Heavies Rugby Union – while also enjoying some ‘guest appearances’ for the Brisbane Lions. Outside of the various football codes, Paul previously coordinated physiotherapy services for the Tri-Alliance triathlon squad and has treated many national and international level athletes in track and field and cycling. A little know fact about Paul is that somewhere in his past, he even enjoyed a stint as a physiotherapist for the Holden Racing Team at Bathurst!

Carla Lazarro
Remedial Massage Therapist
Carla is a qualified Remedial Massage Therapist having completed her Diploma of Remedial Massage at Evolve College in 2021. During her 16-year career as a Beauty Therapist, Carla gained experience in performing relaxation massage, hot stone massage and pregnancy massage. She has always had a passion for massage and how massage can help people. To further my skills in massage, I completed the short courses in Myofascial Cupping, and Manual Lymphatic Massage, which can be implemented into your massage. Throughout her years, Carla has practised in a variety of healthcare settings including Physiotherapy, Massage, Chiropractic and Acupuncture clinics, as well as wellness centres, day spas, and beauty salons.
Carla implements a combination of relaxation, deep tissue/remedial techniques and trigger point release to aim to give the best result for each client. Each massage is tailored to each client’s specific needs and goals.
Carla can provide deep tissue, relaxation, pregnancy, and sports massages, myofascial cupping (suction) and manual lymphatic drainage massage. If you would like to add Myofascial Cupping or Lymphatic massage, just let Carla know!

Daniel Holmes

Podiatrist – Musculoskeletal & General Care
An avid endurance sports fan, Dan has been passionately treating patients of all ages and abilities in the Brisbane region for the past 15 years. Dan Holmes graduated with a Bachelor of Podiatry from Queensland University of Technology in 2007. Prior to Podiatry, he completed a Bachelor of Human Movement Studies majoring in Exercise Science at the University of Queensland.
He is passionate about helping people to live their most active lives. Treating lower limb injuries is key to this. Dan has a special interest in bone stress and tendon injuries. He also has extensive experience prescribing custom orthotics recommending footwear and prescribing rehabilitative exercise plans to allow patients to return to sports and exercise.
Dan’s interest in foot health extends to general foot care, nail surgery and assessment of paediatric concerns.
Outside of work, Dan enjoys challenging himself mentally and physically by training and participating in Triathlons, Ultra distance trail running and adventure racing. Time in nature is important to Dan as he is passionate about the conservation of our natural world. He enjoys bushwalking and hopes to spend more time with his wife and two young girls exploring The World’s natural wonders.
Dan is Brisbane-born and bred and currently lives on the North side with his wife and two daughters. He has a mild coffee addiction, so you may catch him getting his caffeine fix around the many local cafes.

Elise Wild-Smith
Exercise Physiologist: Lower Back and Pelvis, Chronic Pain
Elise graduated with a Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology at the Queensland University of Technology and has additional training in Pilates. While Elise enjoys treating a wide variety of conditions, she has a keen interest in lower back and hip pain management, and musculoskeletal rehabilitation.
Elise is very passionate about the positive impact of physical activity on health and well-being and understands that this will look different for everyone. Elise endeavours to facilitate holistic, individualised, and achievable interventions for the best possible patient outcomes. Through her study, professional development and lived experience, Elise has developed the skills and knowledge to assist her patients in improving movement patterns and enjoying exercise.
Outside of her role as an Exercise Physiologist, Elise enjoys leading an active and balanced lifestyle through Pilates and the gym, going to the beach and finding the best gluten-free eats.

Georgia is an Accredited Practising Dietitian, completing her Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics at Griffith University on the Gold Coast. She strives to ensure her clients feel supported and empowered throughout their journey to better health through nutrition. Using evidence-based practice, Georgia can tailor nutrition strategies to each client to meet their goals.
Georgia’s special interest areas include weight management, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and gastrointestinal health.

Peter is an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) and Sports Dietitian (AccSD) who is passionate about a client-centred approach to nutrition; tailoring advice and plans to the individual.
With a background in sport science and an extensive history of cycling, Peter enjoys fine-tuning the nutrition plans of all cyclists and is currently the consulting Dietitian to the QAS cycling squad. Peter is also very passionate about the nutritional needs of recreational, junior, club, Audax and Gran Fondo participants.
Peter’s interests lie not only in sport. He enjoys helping people from all walks of life to meet their nutritional goals by tailoring advice to their individual circumstances.
