WHAT PEOPLE THINK OF US

Great experience! Friendly and helpful office staff, professional practitioner, outcomes have exceeded my expectations. Thank you so much Sports and Spinal.
Cielo and the team are absolutely amazing! I saw Cielo to get physio on a shoulder I could hardly move and after the appointment she gave me exercises to not only help the issue but strengthen the area to avoid this happening again. She's also an absolutely wonderful person! I also got a massage from Kristi and besides being extremely friendly, I felt amazing afterwards. Special mention to Pauline in Reception who is always friendly and welcoming. Would give 10 stars if I could!!!
Cannot recommend Sports & Spinal Springfield more highly. I’ve seen Cielo, Claire and Pumi for physio and Kirsty for massage and they have all been fantastic. The at home exercises and after care have also been really helpful to minimise my soreness both pre and post natally. Will definitely be returning again. Thank you so much team!
Had a knee issue for over a year following the COVID break. Went to Sports and Spinal and received some simple exercises to complete. After a month or two my knee was better and was able tor run pain free again. Fantastic staff, solved my problem, and gave simple explanations to follow at home.
Great service with lovely staff very friendly and accommodating.

Do you know what MS is? How does it affect the human body? Can it be treated? Let us explain 👇

🧠 Multiple sclerosis (MS) is one of the most common diseases of the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord). Today, 2.8 million people around the world have MS.

🧠 MS is an inflammatory demyelinating condition. It is caused by damage to myelin – a fatty material that insulates nerves. In MS, the loss of myelin affects the way nerves conduct electrical impulses to and from the brain. Symptoms can include blurred vision, weak limbs, tingling sensations, unsteadiness, memory problems, and fatigue.

🧠 Most people with MS are diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 40. MS is two to three times more common in women than in men. There is no drug that can cure MS, but treatments are available which can modify the course of the disease.

The Sports & Spinal team can help those with MS. Get in touch with our team today to learn more

Exercise Right Week 🏃‍♂️

How does exercise help with mental health?

There is ample evidence that suggests exercise is an effective treatment method for people suffering from acute and chronic mental illness.

Exercise can make a big difference in mood and needs to be a fundamental part of mental health treatment. Even one workout a week is known to have great benefits.

Exercise can also counteract the side effects of some medications such as reducing the risk of falling by strengthening muscles and helping control body weight and blood pressure.

If you need help with getting more exercise into your life contact your nearest SSP exercise physiologist 💪
Exercise Right Week 🏃‍♂️

Exercise Right Week is aimed at encouraging all Australians to be more active and to know where to get the *right* advice when it comes to moving more.

This year’s theme is Exercise for the Right Reasons. Why?

Because a lot of the dialogue in the health and fitness industry turns exercise into a chore or punishment. It pushes exercise as merely a weight-loss tool or a way to create an “ideal” body. This can create a negative relationship between our minds and movement. We want to change that.

This Exercise Right Week, we want to highlight some of the incredible physical, mental, and social health benefits of exercise (that have NOTHING to do with the number on the scale!)

Saturday marked National Cheese Day! 🧀

We all love a little bit (or a lot!) of cheese in our diets but sometimes cheese can come with the stigma that it's not good for us. To help clear that myth up, Sports & Spinal Dietitian Caitlin has weighed in on what she thinks about cheese in our diets 👇

Cheese Pros:
🧀 Good source of protein and calcium
🧀 Lots of different types that can be used for different things
🧀 Hard cheeses are low in lactose so are still suitable for people with lactose intolerance

Things to be mindful of:
🧀 Can be more energy-dense, so you may like to choose lite options depending on your nutrition goals
🧀 Need to be mindful of food safety when including them in sandwiches/salads/other dishes
🧀 Need to keep cold with an ice brick in a cool bag when at school or work if you don't have access to a fridge

If you need help with their cheese intake or diet get in touch with your local Sports & Spinal team today!
World Hygiene Day 🤝

This year's theme for World Hand Hygiene Day is focused on recognizing that we can add to a facility's safety culture and quality through cleaning our hands but also that a strong quality and safety culture will encourage people to clean their hands at the right times and with the right products.

Sports & Spinal prides itself on instilling high hygiene standards across all our practices and services. We take hygiene seriously 🧼

Unite, talk and work together on hand hygiene for high quality safer care everywhere.
