Johnny Mulherin

Physiotherapist

Johnny is a enthusiastic and driven physiotherapist that graduated from James Cook University in 2019. Starting in private practice in Mackay, Johnny’s primary areas of expertise are in musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy while also providing tailored care for clients under the NDIS. His passion lies in helping clients achieve unique and ambitious goals, whether it’s returning to running, learning to kayak, or picking up fishing again – no matter how impossible those goals may seem.

In 2022, Johnny took on the role of Clinical Mentor and Sports Medicine Coordinator for the Solomon Islands Institute of Sport, supporting athletes in over 22 sports during their preparation for the 2023 Pacific Games. This involved physio treatment tables setup underneath coconut trees many times, a career highlight for him. Johnny is also a qualified Australian Strength and Conditioning Level 1 Coach and is trained in Western Acupuncture and Dry Needling.

His interest areas also extend to occupational health, where he is dedicated to promoting injury prevention and helping individuals return to work and daily life with strength and confidence. When he’s not working, Johnny enjoys rugby league, scuba diving, and trying to get his garden going

Johnny is available for physiotherapy consults at Beenleigh Sports & Spinal.

With a background in bachelor’s degree of sports rehabilitation from Beijing Sport University in 2019, Oscar brings over five years of experience working with elite athletes and professional sports teams both in China and Australia.

Oscar’s physiotherapy journey began courtside, working as a tournament sports physio for various professional tennis events under the Chinese Tennis Association. In 2019, he joined China’s National Tennis Team as a full-time sports physio, primarily supporting the country’s top-ranked ATP player at the time.

Since moving to Brisbane in 2022 for further study, Oscar has stayed active in the sporting community including rugby and football. His recent highlights include supporting Team Slovakia during the 2024 Davis Cup Final Stage and working at ATP Brisbane International 2025 and World Table Tennis Singapore Smash 2025 as a tournament physio.

During the last 3 years studying in Brisbane, Oscar has extended his interest in helping people with musculoskeletal or neurological conditions in rehabilitation to achieve better quality of life, including occupational health and NDIS.
