Nick Hurrell

Musculoskeletal Physio

Nick studied at Griffith University where he completed a Bachelor of Exercise Science and a Master of Physiotherapy.

He has a keen interest in sporting injuries which came through his own experience as a semi-professional rugby player as well as working closely with elite athletes from a range of sports. Recently, Nick has worked with the Gold Coast SUNS AFL team for the past  4 years as well as contract work with the ACT Brumbies, Kangaroos NRL, Jillaroos NRL, Canberra Raiders, Sydney Roosters and the NSWIS Diving.

Nick takes a holistic approach to injury management and rehabilitation with a focus on exercise to helping clients achieve their goals and maximise their quality of life. He is always looking to further his knowledge through professional development to ensure he is providing the most relevant, up-to-date and evidence-based treatments to his clients. Outside of work, Nick enjoys traveling, running, swimming and cycling.

Marina Melnikoff

Women's Health/ General Physiotherapist

Marina completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy at Australian Catholic University. She has completed post-graduate studies in women’s health and can assist with concerns relating to pre and post-natal, incontinence, prolapse management, pelvic floor muscle training, menopause, and other bladder and bowel dysfunctions.

Marina has an extensive sporting background in gymnastics, powerlifting and CrossFit. She also holds a Bachelor of Exercise Science with Honours, which assisted in developing her passion for musculoskeletal injuries and rehabilitation. Marina believes in taking a holistic approach to patient care and utilising exercise therapy throughout treatment to optimise outcomes and achieve patient goals.

 

Outside of work she can often be found at the beach, surfing or diving. She enjoys an active lifestyle outdoors that provides new and exciting challenges.

Josh McDermott

General Physiotherapy

Josh completed a Bachelor of Exercise Science at Victoria University and has recently moved to Queensland where he completed his Masters of Physiotherapy at Griffith University.

Josh has a strong sporting background competing in swimming at a National level which has sparked his interests for the prevention and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries. He believes in taking a patient-centred approach to ensure that clients achieve their functional goals through exercise-based therapies. Josh has been involved in a wide range of sports including water polo and AFL which has allowed him to remain active in his life.

Josh’s interests outside of work include surfing, travelling and anything involving the outdoors.

Anna Rollo

Remedial Massage Therapist

Anna has over 10 years of experience in the Health industry working at a multidisciplinary clinic in Sydney. She obtained her Diploma of Remedial Massage from TAFE NSW in 2009 graduating with distinctions. She has also received awards for Academic Excellence and Health and Recreation Student of the Year in NSW.

In order to expand her knowledge of the human body, further her skills and achieve better results for her patients, Anna has completed additional training in Fitness at TAFE NSW as well as Kinesio Taping KT1, Thermal Stones, NST, MFR and MET.

Anna believes in the importance of regular massage treatments, exercise and stretching in order to maintain a healthy state of body and mind. She aims to provide a full experience for her patients by professionally advising on overall health, wellbeing and fitness. She believes that a holistic approach to each patient is the key to help ease pain and meet treatment goals. Anna tailors each massage treatment to meet individual needs and she believes that prevention is the best cure.

Aleks has 15 years of experience as a Podiatrist with over 30,000 patient consultations. He has a special interest in sports and running injuries including recently authoring a book called The Runner’s Foot Guide – Feet, Shoes, Myths & Tips. He is a podiatry managing partner at Sports & Spinal with a demonstrated history of working in the health, wellness and fitness industry. Nicholas graduated from QUT in 2015. Nicholas previously worked in Far North Queensland and on the Sunshine Coast; he relocated to the Gold Coast in 2021 with his wonderful wife and daughter. Nicholas enjoys all things outdoors, and his favourite sport is soccer, where he has played interstate and overseas. On the weekends, he loves fishing, camping and visiting the beautiful beaches all along the Coast. Dietitian

Sarah is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian, completing her Bachelor of Dietetics at the University of the Sunshine Coast. Sarah enjoys meeting and working with new people and has a passion for supporting people achieve their goals through a client-centred approach, encouraging sustainable eating behaviours and using evidence-based practice. Sarah’s special interest areas include weight management, oncology, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and gastrointestinal health.

Outside of work, Sarah enjoys roller skating, spending time with family and friends and taking her two German Shepards for a walk.

Joanna Sterling

Psychologist

Joanna completed a Bachelor of Psychological Science and a Master of Psychology (Sport and Exercise) at the University of Queensland. She is a fully registered psychologist with the Australian Heath Practitioner Agency (AHPRA) and also a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). Joanna enjoys working with individuals across the lifespan and has experience practising in a range of settings including schools, community health organisations, sporting clubs/teams and in private practice. She has also previously assisted with research into Whiplash Associated Disorders and is an author on several journal articles in this area.

Joanna is a warm and empathetic practitioner who uses an eclectic approach to work towards the goals of her clients. She draws on a range of evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT). Areas of special interest for Joanna include:

  • Developing and supporting healthy lifestyle changes
  • Managing stress, anxiety and depression
  • Supporting recovery from injury
