Accredited Exercise Physiologists are allied health professionals providing exercise and lifestyle therapies to prevent and manage chronic disease, injury, and disability.

An Exercise Physiologist (EP) is a 4 year, University-trained Allied Health professional who is an exercise prescription expert. They will work with you to design a specific exercise program tailored to your injuries, health status and goals.

Our Exercise Physiologists at Sports & Spinal can help your condition by working with you to formulate an appropriate treatment plan to assist in reaching your specific goals. Exercise Physiologists use movement and exercise in conjunction with specific education and motivational guidance to treat and manage your conditions.

Exercise Physiology at Broadbeach is well-suited for those managing chronic conditions, returning after injury, or building capacity for work and daily activities.

Sports & Spinal’s accredited Exercise Physiologist can assist with Diabetes & Obesity, General Health & Wellbeing, Mental Health Issues, Musculoskeletal Injuries, Neurological Conditions, Strength & Conditioning, Women’s Health, Aging, Chronic Pain, Fatigue, Cardiovascular, Pulmonary, Paediatrics and Cancer.

Exercise facilitates changes within the body that increases its efficiency. This allows us to be able to manage conditions or diseases, that can cause our bodies to not function to the best ability.

Programs typically blend strength training, movement education and cardiovascular conditioning, with a strong focus on sustainable progress.

You can expect our Exercise Physiologist to listen to your personal story and ask questions, so they can work with you to guide an appropriate treatment plan. Our Exercise Physiologist will complete a detailed, goal-focused, clinical, and functional assessment.

Treatment will vary and be specific to you but will likely involve modified movement and exercises to build your capacity and function through strength, fitness, balance, and more. Treatment will change and progress while working alongside your Exercise Physiologist. Our Exercise physiologists will provide education on health, conditions, injuries and what to do and what not to do may take place in different environments, including our onsite gym, your regular gym and pools, depending on your interests and goals. Our Exercise Physiologist believes in a multi-disciplinary approach and will work with other health professionals to help manage your condition.

Sports & Spinal Broadbeach is NDIS registered and accepts Medicare rebates and HICAPS health fund claims. EFTPOS and credit card facilities are also available for payment. What Broadbeach Patients Say

RI visited this clinic during my stay in Broadbeach, hoping to ease the pain from a severely strained back. The pain was sharp with even the smallest movements – getting out of bed, lying down, or sitting. So I was quite distressed.

Ellie treated me, and I was genuinely surprised and impressed by how much relief she provided. After the first session, I could move around without the sharp pain, and I felt about 70% better, leaving the rest to time and recovery. It felt like magic, especially as this happened on just the second day of my stay, when I was really upset about being in pain.

Ellie was very professional and caring, giving me advice on exercises I could do after treatment, and even following up with a message the next day to check on my progress.

I am so grateful for Ellie’s professionalism, kindness, and skill. She turned what could have been a ruined trip into a much more enjoyable one.

Marina is a life saver. I was struggle with my training last year as a prepared for the pro women’s hyrox due to a knee issue and after seeing Marina a few times I had no pain and since then have had no recurring soreness. In the past month I have started getting a sore back and have started seeing her again with yet again amazing results. I would highly recommend Marina she’s knowledgeable and amazing at what she does.

Great experience. Nicholas looked after my son, Patrick, really well today. Highly experienced and very knowledgeable and all the staff were friendly and I had confidence in the process. As a healthcare professional myself (at the other end of the body) it was great to experience such great cleanliness and expertise and I can highly recommend this practice. Thank you all 🙏🏻

It’s hard to believe we’re almost eight months into the year!

To our 2026 New Grad cohort, we couldn’t be prouder of everything you’ve achieved.

Over the past few months, we’ve watched you grow in confidence, embrace every learning opportunity and build meaningful relationships with your patients. Seeing your appointment books fill, hearing the positive feedback from patients and colleagues, and watching you settle into your teams has been incredibly rewarding.

Recently, we also came together for our Mid-Year Refresher Training, taking time to reflect, reconnect and continue building on everything you've learned so far. Supporting our New Grads doesn't stop after orientation, it's something we're committed to throughout the year and beyond.

You're doing an incredible job, and we can't wait to see what the rest of the year has in store.

Australia is facing a chronic shortage of healthcare professionals, and we urgently need more graduates entering the allied health workforce.

To qualify, students across occupational therapy, physiotherapy, psychology and other allied health professions are required to complete hundreds, and in some cases thousands, of hours of mandatory unpaid clinical placement.

Many experience significant financial hardship during this time, often referred to as 'placement poverty', due to lost income and the added costs of travel, accommodation, food and other living expenses.

To help address this issue, Allied Health Professions Australia (AHPA) has launched a national petition calling for the Commonwealth Prac Payment to be expanded to all allied health students.

We encourage you to support the next generation of allied health professionals by signing the petition and helping end placement poverty.
