Sports & Spinal Physio Springfield is situated within the Waterworx Aquatic Centre. The clinic can be found within the heart of Springfield, at 22 A Commercial Drive, Springfield. Located West of Brisbane, we proudly offer high-quality health care services to the greater Springfield area with suburbs conveniently located near Springfield Central, Springfield Lakes, Brookwater, Augustine Heights, Camira, Bellbird-Park, Spring Mountain, Goodna, Redbank Plains, Greenbank, Forest Lake and other surrounding suburbs.

Sports & Spinal Physiotherapy features on-site car parking as well as an onsite gym with Pilates equipment. We’re NDIS registered, and Medicare rebates and HICAPS health fund claims are available. EFTPOS and credit card facilities are also available for payment. Sports & Spinal also have telehealth consultations available for Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology, Dietitian, Podiatry, Occupational Therapy and Psychology for clients Australia-wide. Our telehealth platform enables allied health Practitioners to use telehealth for secure video consultations and live exercise demonstrations. Our Telehealth consultations will continue to deliver the same outstanding level of care as our in-clinic services, where our experienced clinicians will provide a tailored treatment plan to help reach their health goals. Cielo Kelley

Musculoskeletal & Lower Limb Physiotherapist

Cielo (pronounced “Shell-o”) graduated from the Australian Catholic University with first-class honours. Her research focused on how people cope after rupturing their anterior cruciate ligament – a major stabilising ligament in the knee. Cielo is passionate about providing high-quality treatment by keeping up to date with the latest research and applying evidence-based practice. In 2017, Cielo was invited to present her thesis at the national Australian Physiotherapy Association Conference in Sydney held at the International Convention Centre. Her research is currently submitted for publication as the leading author.

She has since undertaken multiple professional development courses to continue broadening her knowledge of treating sports-related injuries, specifically the knee. Cielo has a keen interest in treating dance- and sports-related injuries, having undertaken eight years of classical ballet training under the Royal Academy of Dance. Cielo is passionate about using a holistic approach to help people get back on their feet and achieve their goals, whether to improve daily function, return to recreational or competitive sports and or optimise general health and well-being.

Piumi Herath

Physiotherapist

Piumi has completed a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) at the University of Queensland and is passionate about educating and supporting others as they strive to achieve their goals. She has had clinical experience in hospital and community settings and uses an exercise-based approach tailored to each individual.  She has a special interest in fields such as musculoskeletal, cardiorespiratory and neurological physiotherapy. She is enthusiastic about continuing to build her knowledge and skills in these areas to provide high-quality care.

Piumi is also passionate about supporting wider communities and led a volunteering team to Romania to educate children in disadvantaged communities. She has also had up to12 years of experience as a dancer and choreographer in traditional Sri Lankan and Bollywood dance troupes.  Outside of the clinic, Piumi enjoys spending time with her family & friends, practising dancing and exploring beaches or waterfalls.

Chari Stewart

Sports Physiotherapist

Chari is an APA Sport & Exercise Physiotherapist. She graduated in 2006 from the University of Otago in NZ, then went on to complete her Sports Physiotherapy Masters at the University of Queensland in 2012. Realising early in her career how important exercise prescription was in managing her clients and athletes, Chari completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Health Science majoring in Physical Conditioning in 2009.

Chari has spent most of her career working in private practice and with various rugby teams from schoolboy to elite. More notably, she was a Physiotherapist at Rugby 7s during the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games and has consulted and travelled with QLD Reds Rugby, QAS Rugby 7s, and Rugby AU.

Chari is currently working part-time at the University of Queensland as a Clinical Educator in the Musculoskeletal & Sports Injury Clinic. In this role, she facilitates the transition from theory to clinical practice for the final year Physiotherapy students.

Claire Stutchbury

Physiotherapist

Claire has completed a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the University of Canberra and enjoys working with patients to achieve their goals. Since graduating, she has worked in practice treating a variety of problems. Her treatment techniques include dry needling, massage/manual therapy, exercise prescription, and education. Claire is passionate about furthering her knowledge to improve patient care and has a keen interest in Women’s Health. Outside the clinic, Claire enjoys hiking, open water swimming, and travelling.

Bianca Mazoletti

Exercise Physiologist

Bianca graduated with a Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology after completing her studies at the Queensland University of Technology. Bianca has a developing clinical interest in women’s health and musculoskeletal rehabilitation.

Alongside completing university, Bianca received certificates for both Pilates reformer and matt work courses. Bianca wishes to combine her Pilates experience and resistance training into her exercise prescription to help musculoskeletal rehabilitation.

Bianca is motivated to help improve the quality of life for her patients and is passionate about assisting them through their exercise journey.

Outside of the clinic, Bianca has a passion for a healthy lifestyle herself. However, she does love her coffee and Sunday brunches.

Kate Oxnard

Exercise Physiologist

Kate completed a Bachelor of Exercise Science at Griffith University and a Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology at Australian Catholic University.  She follows an evidence-based approach tailored to each individual and is passionate about educating and supporting clients to achieve goals that are meaningful to them.  She strives to continually improve her knowledge and skills to provide high-quality care.

Kate has been fortunate to assist with research investigating the effects of exercise on vascular (blood vessel) function during pregnancy.  She plans to conduct further research to help improve the standard of care provided to clients throughout their pregnancies.

Outside of the clinic, Kate enjoys running and bushwalking.

Kristi Hood

Remedial Massage Therapist

Kristi graduated with a Diploma of Remedial Massage through Q Academy on the Sunshine Coast in 2017. She is interested in treating and assisting with neck and back concerns and utilises her remedial, deep tissue and trigger point therapy knowledge. Kristi’s decision and desire to become a Remedial Massage Therapist was born through her desire to make a difference and help people.

Dylan McDonald

General Care, Sports & Exercise Podiatrist

Dylan graduated from the Queensland University of Technology as a Podiatrist, following earlier studies in Exercise and Nutrition Science (Hons.). He continually expands on his knowledge and skills to keep up-to-date with the developing science behind lower limb conditions and injuries.

Dylan has a special interest in sports and biomechanical podiatry (including paediatric patients); he has experience treating all aspects of general lower limb and foot care. Dylan utilises biomechanical assessments, gait/movement analysis, orthotic therapy, footwear assessment and recommendations, dry needling and general/diabetic screenings to get the best outcomes for his clients. He has a unique skillset in foot mobilisation and manipulation, forming part of his continuing clinical expertise.

Dylan has been involved in numerous sports as a junior athlete, particularly in AFL. He has previously held roles as a strength and conditioning coach and sports trainer (current) with the Queensland Junior Talent programs. Dylan enjoys travelling, live music, and working on his handicap out on the golf course in his spare time.

Special Interest:  Running Gait Analysis, Footwear Recommendations, Strengthening, Exercise Prescriptions and General Foot Health.

Georgia Volz

Dietitian

Georgia is an Accredited Practising Dietitian, completing her Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics at Griffith University on the Gold Coast. She strives to ensure her clients feel supported and empowered throughout their journey to better health through nutrition. Using evidence-based practice, Georgia can tailor nutrition strategies to each client to meet their goals. Georgia’s special interest areas include weight management, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and gastrointestinal health.
