Ben Hones

Neck & Shoulder Physiotherapist

Ben completed his Physiotherapy degree in New Zealand at the University of Otago in 2010. Since then, he has treated a range of patients in private practice and has developed a clinical interest in treating neck and shoulder conditions.

He supports patients towards their individual goals by supporting his practice with the latest evidence, postgraduate courses, and a holistic approach.

He enjoys all things outdoors, with sporting interests including hiking, surfing, rugby, and martial arts.

Jaime Singleton

Women's Health Physiotherapist

Jaime graduated from the University of Queensland in 2006 and has worked in both the private and public sectors in Women’s Health Physiotherapy for over 12 years. Jaime has worked solely in one of the largest maternity hospitals in Australia, until most recently leading the Allied Health teams in both the newly established Queensland Persistent Pelvic Pain clinic and the Queensland Pelvic Mesh Service, both aimed specifically at pain and physio management for women. 

Jaime has done further postgraduate study through the University of Melbourne, has trained undergraduate and postgraduate students in this field, and has presented at numerous conferences on varying topics on Women’s Health Physiotherapy. 

Jaime has extensive experience in treating women across the lifespan, from adolescent pelvic pain to pregnancy and postnatal related conditions, as well as post-menopausal and gynaecological concerns. Jaime treats women’s related complaints such as incontinence, prolapse, mastitis, bowel concerns, pregnancy-related pain, pelvic mesh-related concerns, painful sex conditions, and endometriosis-related pain. 

Jaime focuses on supporting and championing women to take control of conditions affecting their lives and is especially passionate about persistent pain management and safe exercise prescription to suit individual needs. Jaime is also trained as a Clinical Pilates instructor and in dry needling to utilise these techniques in her treatment regimes.

Montana Morrison

Physiotherapist

Montana has recently completed a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at James Cook University in her hometown of Townsville before relocating to the Sunshine Coast. Driven by a passion for enhancing movement and kicking goals, Montana believes every individual requires a unique and holistic approach to ensure successful outcomes. Montana aims to optimise self-management to enhance the quality of life.

Montana enjoys an active lifestyle, often participating in hikes and treks, and enjoys time at the gym. Overall, the beach is where you will find her when she is not in the clinic, attempting to master surfing.

Sophie Stewart

Chronic Pain & Back Physiotherapist

Sophie graduated from the University of Queensland with honours in 2010 and has worked in private practice ever since. Sophie has a huge passion for physiotherapy and believes in a holistic approach to patient care with great importance on active rehabilitation and education towards long-term self-management. Her passion lies with rehabilitation from chronic conditions, persistent pain and rehabilitation during and after cancer treatment.

The evidence is overwhelming to indicate that a multidisciplinary approach to treatment yields the best outcomes for patients. Therefore Sophie places great importance on communication between patient, physio and all health professionals involved in the recovery process. Sophie believes this team approach will ensure the best possible outcome and care for her patients.

Sam Slykhuis

Physiotherapist

Sam recently completed his Physiotherapy degree with honours at Monash University, Victoria, in 2020. With student experience at the Alfred Hospital and private practice, Sam further developed a passion for working with a team of health professionals to provide the best patient-centred care possible.

As an accredited strength and conditioning coach, Sam aims to combine his Physiotherapy skills manual therapy skills with exercise prescription to provide patients with long-lasting treatment and holistic care. Sam understands that patients want to focus on what they can do rather than focus on what they cannot, and this is something he follows closely. He is a believer in empowering his patients with education and clear reasoning.

He enjoys living an active lifestyle and has a passion for surfing, paddling and endurance racing. Coming from Victoria, he is very much looking forward to the warmer water.

Ashley Vincent

Physiotherapist

Ashley graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from Australian Catholic University in 2017. She has enjoyed working in multiple private practices in Brisbane and rural NSW before returning home to the Sunshine Coast, where she grew up.
Ashley has a strong passion for women’s health physiotherapy and will be continuing to undergo further training to succeed in this field. Her other specialities include post-operative rehabilitation and sporting injuries, particularly dance injuries, given her 16-year competitive dance background.

Ashley has further training and experience in western acupuncture and dry needling, sports physiotherapy and all forms of pilates.
Ashley is extremely enthusiastic about providing quality healthcare with a holistic approach to patient-centred care. She enjoys providing tailored, evidence-based exercise programs to create long term solutions and improve quality of life.

Faith is an Exercise Physiologist from Tasmania, graduating from the University of the Sunshine Coast, who now considers the Sunshine Coast home.

She has a passion for Women’s Health and movement analysis, looking at how to you’re moving daily that has an impact on your musculoskeletal aches and pains.

During her time off Faith likes to mountain climb, mountain bike, play soccer and be down on the beach with her dog. Faith believes that motion is lotion so let’s get moving!

Exercise Physiologist

Rue is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, graduating from the University of New South Wales. Rue has had clinical experience working with many musculoskeletal and neurological conditions; more recently, she has gained experience at The Sydney Cancer Survivorship Centre in Concord Repatriation Hospital.

Combining her passion for strength and conditioning with her clinical background in Exercise Physiology, Rue provides effective, holistic programming and value centred support for her patients. She is highly enthusiastic about supporting clients with a unique system centred around movement, nutrition, mindset and lifestyle for optimal improvement. Employing a practical approach, Rue believes that movement is medicine, the foundation in building a healthy lifestyle and promoting a successful recovery.

Danielle has completed a Certificate 3 in Massage and a  Diploma of Remedial Massage. Danielle has always had a passion for helping others and finds the field of massage very fulfilling. Danielle is excited to continue her Massage Therapy journey with Sports & Spinal.

Danielle is a devoted mother of 2; she enjoys keeping active and finds exercise to be a great benefit to her mental wellbeing. Danielle enjoys Boot Camp style workouts and walking. Danielle’s happy place has always been the beach, and she could walk for hours along the shoreline.

Ricki-lee Driver

Dietitian

Ricki-lee is passionate about supporting and empowering clients to achieve their health-related goals. Since graduating with an Honours in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of the Sunshine Coast, Ricki-lee has obtained experience across a variety of sectors including private hospitals, aged care facilities, private practice, and specialist teams. Ricki-lee applies a patient-centred approach to enable clients to overcome health barriers and facilitate diet and lifestyle independence.  Ricki-lee has special interests in adult and childhood obesity, bariatrics and disability.

Outside of work, Ricki-lee enjoys rock climbing, spending time with family and friends and experimenting in the kitchen.

Blake Withers

General Care, Sports & Exercise Podiatrist

Blake graduated with a Bachelor of Podiatry from the University of Newcastle. He has always held a deep interest in health, fitness, and the human body leading him towards his chosen podiatry profession.

Blake Withers is a highly skilled Podiatrist with a diverse and broad training background. Passionate about sports medicine, movement screening, exercise prescription & rehabilitation, Blake thrives in working with people with complex and difficult lower limb cases. He is heavily involved in the sporting and musculoskeletal environment, including:

  • Being chosen to present for Sports Medicine Australia on running-related injuries. This involves providing education and webinars to clinicians and athletes worldwide.
  • Currently completing post-graduate research in running-related injuries looking at strategies to identify and rehab injures runners.
  • Collecting data for his own research on pain, foot type, and footwear. The goal of this research is to be published in the British Journal of sports medicine.

In addition to his private practice work, Blake currently competes in half iron Man, marathons, and Olympic distance triathlons. His goal is to work to a podium finish in which he finds he is more able to relate to the mental battle his patients go through with injury and performance. His passion lies in people with pain and identifying ways to improve their resilience and performance.

Blake is also currently a published author in the Journal of medicine and sport. His recent systematic review explores the social, physical, and psychological outcomes associated with park run participation.

‘I believe that an evidence-based approach to any condition and person is important. Many contributing factors must be addressed to reach an individual’s pain and performance goals’.
