Laura graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the University of South Australia, and since then has been working in rehabilitation centres, as well as private practice. Laura has developed a passion for low back and spinal rehabilitation and working closely with GPs and specialists. Laura believes in a holistic approach to injury and management by addressing issues at a functional and impairment level to help her patients achieve their goals and to get them back to optimal functioning and performance.
Laura has postgraduate training in the lower back and pelvic injuries, as well as clinical Pilates and spinal rehabilitation, and regularly attends further training to ensure that her clinical skills and knowledge are kept up-to-date. Laura enjoys the outdoors, surfing and spending time with family and friends.

Briony has been with Sports and Spinal since 1998. She has a wealth of experience in all areas of physiotherapy but for over a decade has focussed particularly on the treatment and management of head, neck and jaw pain, as well as dizziness and vestibular dysfunction.
Briony has achieved Competency level Vestibular training and has been a Watson Headache practitioner for over 15 years. Watson techniques for headaches are internationally recognised and renowned and can be a breakthrough in the management of chronic headache and migraine.

General Physiotherapy
Steve trained in the UK qualifying as a Physiotherapist in 2002. He initially worked in the UK national health system for 6 yrs and then moved back to NZ to run his own clinic for 13yrs. Steve has an extensive background in the health and fitness industry after gaining an Advanced Certificate in Exercise Science in 1992 and worked as a fitness instructor for over 10 years in Auckland and London.
Steve has been qualified in Acupuncture and Pilates since 2006. Steve has completed post-graduate training in Watson Headache Method, Manipulative Therapy Techniques, Dry Needling, Myofascial Massage and he is also trained in Vestibular Rehabilitation.
Steve believes in functional training and getting to the cause of your problems which leads to a longer-lasting and more effective long-term result. Steve’s goal is to get you better than you were pre-injury/operation.
Steve is also a keen photographer, enjoys fishing and mountain biking and is kept busy by his three children.

Sophie found her passion for helping women early in her career and since graduating, has completed further study in the field of Women’s health. In conjunction with women’s health, Sophie also enjoys treating low back, hip and pelvic pain. Kelly completed a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) at the University of Newcastle and worked in private practice before moving to the Sunshine Coast. Kelly also has a background as a group fitness instructor and has played lots of different sports from a young age which established her passion for health and fitness. Aidan Hermence joins the Sports & Spinal team after graduating from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours). During his studies, Aidan developed a passion for musculoskeletal conditions, as well as strength and conditioning. He believes in a holistic approach to rehabilitation and is committed to helping every patient reach optimal functioning and performance.
As a life-long Sunshine Coast local, Aidan is familiar with the active and outdoor lifestyle that comes with the region. His personal experience in surf lifesaving, running, surfing and CrossFit gives him a unique perspective that allows him to treat every patient with care and consideration.

After graduating from school Joe began his studies in Occupational Therapy before moving to his degree Clinical Exercise Physiology .During this time he completed practical placements at local special schools and with a number of disability support services. This has included work with various community support services and the Sporting Wheelies and disabled association.

Sarah is a an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, graduating from the University of the Sunshine Coast in late 2018. She has 15 years’ experience in classical Ballet, Jazz and Contemporary dance, and has recently taken up aerial acrobatics (and absolutely LOVES it). She also studied and taught dance through the Australian Teachers of Dancing and has always had an interest in the human body, movement and health and well-being.
Sarah is passionate about helping people reach their goals, and managing pain and disease with exercise intervention and education, while making a positive impact on their quality of life and improving activities of daily living. Her key interests include chronic disease management, falls prevention, core and lower limb strength and women’s health. She understands that every case requires a different approach, and endeavours to work with all clients individually to resolve any issue as best she can, and to encourage people to become and remain self-managed.
Sarah strongly believes goal setting, education and motivational strategies for exercise intervention plays a very important role in achieving optimal health, and is determined to show the world that exercise can be enjoyable!

Chris completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (Human Movement) in 2007 at the University of South Australia. Chris has vast experience across all aspects of Exercise Physiology, including chronic disease management, aged care, orthopaedics, student mentoring, and elite athlete conditioning/rehabilitation.
Chris is a husband and father of 4 active kids and has recently moved to the Sunshine State from South Australia with his family.
Chris’ most recent role was that of Regional Manager at an NDIS provider in Brisbane, where he gained valuable skills within the NDIS. Chris is keen to get back to working with clients to provide professional and personal guidance to activity and health.
Chris loves working with clients to achieve their life goals, with a person/individual-centred approach, promoting activity (fun!) rather than exercise (sounds hard!), recognising everyone is different and one activity/exercise program won’t work for everyone. You have your own likes/dislikes and goals, and he’ll guide you to achieve them.

Tim graduated from the Queensland University of Technology as a Podiatrist in 2006. He has gained valuable experience over the last eight years working in a multidisciplinary sports medicine clinic. Within this setting, Tim had the pleasure of working alongside medical & allied health professionals including Sports Doctors, Physiotherapists, and Massage Therapists.
Tim enjoys a broad scope of podiatry including sports injuries of the lower limb, biomechanical assessments, gait analysis, orthotic therapy, footwear assessments and recommendations, diabetic foot assessments and treatment of conditions of the toenails and skin. Tim is particularly passionate about running biomechanics and footwear advice/prescription, a special interest that commenced through his strong interest in athletics and involvement in the footwear industry.
Over the years Tim has treated a number of senior and junior athletes from a range of different sports, including 2 years treating both the Brisbane Roar and Brisbane Roar youth teams.
Tim is a sports enthusiast himself having been involved in a number of sports from a young age competing at a state level in Athletics and Basketball.

Blake graduated with a Bachelor of Podiatry from the University of Newcastle. He has always held a deep interest in health, fitness and the human body leading him towards his chosen profession of podiatry. Tarni is an Accredited Practising Dietitian who is passionate about improving health, promoting recovery and preventing disease by inspiring healthy diet and lifestyle choices using a patient-centred approach. Graduating from the University of the Sunshine Coast with a Bachelor of Nutrition & Dietetics, Tarni has since had clinical experience working with acute cardiac and respiratory patients in the hospital. Psychologist
Domonique is a performance psychologist who has received a Master of Psychology (Sport and Exercise) from the University of Queensland. Domonique has a diverse range of experience working in mental health including mental health case management, performance psychologist at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and several sports academies, spinal cord injury, NDIS, work cover, drug and alcohol rehabilitation, and general psychological counselling and services.
Domonique is passionate about helping clients improve their quality of life and achieve goals in a safe and heard environment through face-to-face, telehealth, and/or video platform.
Without restricting to any presenting issue, Domonique welcomes all enquiries for therapy with a special interest in depression and anxiety, athlete wellbeing, National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) support, work cover (including pain and injury support), substance use, LBTIQ+, and general counselling.
