Sports & Spinal Maroochydore is situated at suite 6.08, level 6 in the new Maroochydore Private Hospital. The practice is conveniently located near Alexandra Headland, Mooloolaba and Cotton Tree.

With an emphasis on core conditioning, breathing and body awareness, our Core, Strength & Mobility classes are a safe and highly effective way to stretch, strengthen and streamline your body without building bulk or stressing your joints.

Core, Strength & Mobility classes utilise various exercises that incorporate balance, power, strength and stability.

This can be done either using the Pilates equipment (reformer, trapeze table, exercise ball etc.) in a CSM Studio class or the form of a Mat Class, utilising bodyweight and minimal equipment. From here, we build and progress your program as appropriate with continued advice and education throughout, so you left feeling a better version of YOU.

Our Core, Strength & Mobility classes are a fitness regime for life, performed on a mat or with specialised equipment. The perfect complement to cardiovascular exercise, sport, rehab and life, these classes will leave you looking toned, feeling revitalised and moving with ease.

Clinical Pilates at Maroochydore is commonly used as a progression step following physiotherapy or injury, focusing on controlled strength, coordination and movement confidence rather than general fitness classes. Sessions are regularly attended by individuals seeking structured movement support that fits around work schedules within the Maroochydore CBD.

Both Physiotherapists and Exercise Physiologists run our classes with Clinical Pilates Experience. Clinical Pilates refers to one-on-one Pilates that are often used for injury rehabilitation and used in conjunction with physiotherapy. Sports & Spinal offers both and can cater to your exact needs.

All patients are required to have an initial assessment with a Physiotherapist or Exercise Physiologist before beginning any of our classes. This is to familiarise patients with any equipment, positions, exercises and identify any injuries/restrictions that we may need to be aware of prior to a patient attending a class.

Sports & Spinal Maroochydore is NDIS registered and accepts Medicare rebates and HICAPS health fund claims. EFTPOS and credit card facilities are also available for payment.

Core, Strength & Mobility classes are perfect for toning and reshaping the body. It works on creating long, lean muscles, toning all of those hard to target areas such as the abdominals, inner thighs, buttocks, back of thighs, sides and backs of the arms. For toning, these classes are best performed 3 to 5 times a week through a combination of studio sessions, mat classes and home exercises.

Pilates exercises are performed through a wide range of movements and work on lengthening the muscles at the same time as strengthening them. To increase flexibility, stretching exercises need to be performed daily.

The Clinical Pilates exercises used in our Core, Strength & Mobility classes focus on strengthening the weakened postural muscles and stretching the tight muscles that pull the body into these poor postures. Studio sessions are the best way to improve posture as our physiotherapists can develop a program to target your specific postural problems. Pilates can also be used for back pain as it relaxes and strengthens the muscles, easing the discomfort.

Our Core, Strength & Mobility classes use Clinical Pilates techniques which are fantastic for injury rehabilitation and prevention as it works on core stability, posture, flexibility, and correcting muscle imbalances and weaknesses via specific strengthening. It can be used for arthritis, neck pain, back pain and various injuries.

Pilates is the secret tool that many high level and recreational athletes use to enhance their performance, decrease the risk of injuries and provide much-needed cross-training. Each sport has specific strength and flexibility requirements. When you book in for an assessment, your physiotherapist will look at the things you need to work on to improve your performance and then proceed to design a Pilates program for you.

★★★★★
I can highly recommend Sports and Spinal at Maroochydore. The staff are wonderful and very skilled at what they do. Pilates classes are individualised to suit my needs and the instructors are highly skilled and so supportive. I really felt like they cared about me and my rehab journey.

Richard Wakeling
★★★★★

Excellent service, generously arranged an appointment quickly as I was suffering sharp pain. Initial response was very good and I felt like I was being cared for by Professionals.
The questions and diagnoses of my lower back issue was accurate and the pre treatment revealed two other contributory issues which made perfect sense to me as they were explained very clearly. The path forward also made sense and I feel I am on my way to some comfort from the continual pain. A follow up plan after treatment was agreed and I am very satisfied I can complete the plan and understand my role going forward with a regime of excersize to assist me.
I thoroughly recommend making an appointment for a consultation and treatment for any discomfort you may experience in joint or muscular pain. They will really explain things and treat your aliment very carefully.

Finding it hard to find health practitioners that work 1 or 2 late nights a week, so I have to leave work early or spend my weekends there. Sports and Spinal look after a lot of my body parts.
Ricki-Lee my Dietician. Carly a Physiotherapist helped get me stronger and swimming in a straight line : ) great that whilst I was seeing a physio of S&S for an injury I was able to do Pilates with a very knowledgeable physio or Exercise Physiologist who could report back to my Physio. Also very knowledgeable massage therapists

I attended Sports & Spinal Maroochydore following an injury and had a great journey to recovery. Suhail is an excellent physio — extremely positive, encouraging, and supportive — and really helped me stay motivated and make progress. I also worked with Blair for exercise physiology, who was also very encouraging and helpful in my recovery. I received professional support from others at the practice as well, and the whole team, including the office ladies, were fantastic; everyone was friendly, supportive, and kind, which made the experience even better.

At Sports & Spinal, our purpose is to inspire, engage and empower everyone on their journey of health and wellbeing - including advocating for fair and equitable access to healthcare.

Exercise physiology is a recognised and essential part of Australia’s health system, supported through Medicare, DVA, the NDIS and private health funds. Yet it is still subject to GST. This means people managing conditions like diabetes, heart disease, obesity and mental health challenges are paying extra for care that helps them live better, healthier lives.

We don’t think that’s right, which is why we’re supporting Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA) in their campaign to remove GST from exercise physiology services.

Our team are calling on our community to support @essa_au's petition to reach 50,000 signatures.

Sign via the link in our bio and share this message to help spread the word. Together, we can help #axethetax on health services and improve access for all Australians!
