Louise Meek

Shoulder & Spinal Rehab

Louise has spent most of her career focusing on treating shoulder conditions working with both the Wynnum Manly Seagulls and high diving.  She then continued to work with the shoulder team on the sunshine coast after moving to join the Sports and Spinal Team in 2010.  She was an Australian Institute of Sport athlete for 6 years in high diving and was a representative on the Australian team for 5 years, which is where her passion for physiotherapy originated.

Louise has been selected from thousands of the physiotherapists in Australia to be included in the Shoulder and Elbow Physiotherapist group (SEPA) This is a selected group of elite Shoulder & Elbow physiotherapists.

Over the last few years, Louise has loved working with the ‘Sunshine Coast Chronic Pain Team’ assisting people with persistent pain.  “This is defiantly an area I love working in and get a lot of fulfillment.  You can make a truly significant difference in someone’s daily life.”  She spends time working with the pain specialists on the coast who meet regularly to have the most optimal care and management of her patients.

She focused her post-graduate studies in these areas making sure all treatment and advice is up to date and evidence-based to provide the most optimal outcome for the client. Louise is very passionate about an educational, active and functional approach to treatment to allow the individual to learn and manage their injury to prevent recurrence. “I feel this gives people the tools to be the driver of their recovery”.

Meredith Hill

Lower Limb Rehab

Meredith has extensive experience as a Sport Physiotherapist and Pilates instructor but has focused her practice in recent years on lower limb injuries. Being a professional triathlete herself, Meredith has a special interest in endurance sports, triathlon, and running related injuries. Meredith completes running assessments in the clinic using video analysis to assist with diagnosing and managing chronic running injuries. Meredith also has years of experience in post-operative rehab and compliments her treatments with dry needling, Kinesio taping, and gym based functional strength training.

Kate Surman

Musculoskeletal Physio

Kate graduated with a Masters of Physiotherapy Studies from the University of Queensland . Since then she has worked solely in private practice treating a range of musculoskeletal conditions. Kate has a special interest in the shoulder and knee, and enjoys treating sport related injuries of all levels. She also enjoys working with adolescents.

Kate plays AFL and is currently in the Gold Coast SUNS women’s AFL academy, looking to make into the 2020 AFLW squad. If she is not working or playing footy you will find her doing any type of outdoor activity, in particular surfing

Koren West

Low Back & Spinal Rehab

Koren West has been focusing on spinal rehabilitation and in particular chronic low back pain for the past 6 years. She has a particular interest in managing patients with a holistic approach to their active rehabilitation using a multidisciplinary team.

Koren also heads our rehabilitative pilates classes and enjoys working with chronic complex musculoskeletal pain conditions and neurological conditions.

Cassandra Kennett

General Physiotherapy

Recently relocated from Townsville, Cassie is a musculoskeletal physiotherapist with a keen interest in sports rehabilitation and athletes of all levels. Her sports of choice are Crossfit, Olympic lifting and Gymnastics, which has given her a pointed understanding of functional movement, movement screening, and strengthening. She is passionate about providing people with specific treatments and exercise regimes relating to their goals and interests. Cassie is also a qualified Pilates Instructor. When not in the clinic, you would find her exploring beaches, at the gym, or having coffee (always having coffee).

Exercise Physiologist

Gemma has a strong belief that living an active healthy lifestyle improves both longevity and quality of life. She has completed a Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Science and has gained an accreditation as an Exercise Physiologist (AEP).

Gemma has developed a passion for spinal rehabilitation and improving quality of life for those suffering from lower back pain. She has also worked with a wide range of conditions including but not limited to musculoskeletal injuries, obesity, diabetes, heart conditions and osteoarthritis.

Gemma has a strong focus on prescribing programs that are individually tailored and that can be self-managed for future health and fitness.

Brad Jobson

Exercise Physiologist

Brad has extensive experience in chronic disease management including cardiac rehabilitation, diabetes management and specific exercise prescription for Osteoporosis . He also specialises in Musculoskeletal conditions including back pain and upper and lower limb pain. Assessments and exercise rehab are conducted in the clinic’s own gym which is purpose built for rehabilitation. Brad’s hobbies include  surfing and running.

Remedial Massage Therapist

Dan has been a practicing remedial massage therapist for 9 years and loves seeing the difference that himself and massage can make to the health and well-being of others. Dan’s background is as a health & fitness educator at TAFE, so he brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience as an educator and therapist.

As well as deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, and various other traditional massage techniques, Dan has a special interest in chronic pain. structural alignment and lymphatic massage. He incorporates gentle stretching within massage treatments to balance posture and functional alignment. This approach aids in a speedy recovery from injury and feels fantastic.

Tia is a Qualified Remedial massage therapist with over 7 years experience with Deep tissue, Relaxation, Trigger Point therapy. She also has experience in Pregnancy massage and enjoys treating expecting mums.

After studies, she had the privilege to work with Professional Cycling team in Europe.

She uses her communication abilities coupled with her experience to find out what the client wants and coordinates this into a professional treatment of each client to achieve their goals.

Podiatrist

Kellie graduated from the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) with a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science (Podiatry) in 2012 and has been working in general, private practice for over 4 years.

Kellie has a passion for treating musculoskeletal conditions and injuries of the lower limb. Kellie feels injury recurrence and injury prevention is possible with appropriate footwear and orthotic therapy in some instances.

Over the years Kellie has also developed a keen interest in paediatric podiatry, involving herself with seminars and further research for her continuing development in this niche field.

Dietitian

Ricki-lee is passionate about supporting and empowering clients to achieve their health-related goals. Since graduating with an Honours in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of the Sunshine Coast, Ricki-lee has obtained experience across a variety of sectors including private hospitals, aged care facilities, private practice, and specialist teams. Ricki-lee applies a patient-centered approach to enable clients to overcome health barriers and facilitate diet and lifestyle independence.  Ricki-lee has special interests in adult and childhood obesity, bariatrics and disability.

Outside of work, Ricki-lee enjoys rock climbing, spending time with family and friends and experimenting in the kitchen.
