Sports & Spinal Nambour is located on the Sunshine Coast, servicing patients across Bli BliMalenyWoombyeParklandsBurnsideMontvillePalmwoods and surrounding hinterland communities.

Our Core, Strength & Mobility (CSM) classes are clinically guided Pilates-based programs designed to improve core stability, mobility, posture and functional strength.

With a strong emphasis on breathing control, movement precision and body awareness, classes provide a safe and structured way to strengthen without excessive joint stress or unnecessary muscle bulk.

Programs incorporate core stability training, balance and coordination exercises, controlled strength progression, mobility and flexibility work, and postural retraining.

Sessions are delivered in our dedicated CSM Studio using Pilates equipment such as reformers, trapeze tables and exercise balls, or as Mat-based classes using bodyweight and minimal equipment.

Unlike general gym Pilates, our classes are overseen by Physiotherapists and Exercise Physiologists with Clinical Pilates training. This ensures exercises are adapted to suit individual injuries, movement restrictions or rehabilitation goals.

We offer:

  • One-on-one Clinical Pilates (often used for injury rehabilitation)

  • Small group Core, Strength & Mobility classes

  • Integrated programs alongside Physiotherapy or Exercise Physiology

All participants are required to complete an initial assessment with a Physiotherapist or Exercise Physiologist prior to commencing classes. This allows us to assess movement patterns, identify any restrictions or injuries and ensure safe progression within a class setting.

Who Benefits from Clinical Pilates?

Clinical Pilates at Nambour commonly supports:

  • Lower back and neck pain

  • Postural dysfunction

  • Pre- and post-surgical rehabilitation

  • Sporting performance

  • Injury prevention

  • General strength and mobility improvement

As part of a multi-disciplinary clinic with a fully equipped gym and hydrotherapy services, Pilates programs can be integrated into broader rehabilitation or performance plans where appropriate.

Sports & Spinal Nambour is NDIS registered and supports Medicare referrals and private health rebates via HICAPS. EFTPOS and credit card facilities are available onsite.

If you are seeking Clinical Pilates in Nambour or the Sunshine Coast hinterland, our team provides structured, progression-focused classes designed to support long-term strength, mobility and movement confidence.

Core, Strength & Mobility classes are perfect for toning and reshaping the body. It works on creating long, lean muscles, toning all of those hard to target areas such as the abdominals, inner thighs, buttocks, back of thighs, sides and backs of the arms. For toning, these classes are best performed 3 to 5 times a week through a combination of studio sessions, mat classes and home exercises.

Pilates exercises are performed through a wide range of movements and work on lengthening the muscles at the same time as strengthening them. To increase flexibility, stretching exercises need to be performed daily.

The Clinical Pilates exercises used in our Core, Strength & Mobility classes focus on strengthening the weakened postural muscles and stretching the tight muscles that pull the body into these poor postures. Studio sessions are the best way to improve posture as our physiotherapists can develop a program to target your specific postural problems. Pilates can also be used for back pain as it relaxes and strengthens the muscles, easing the discomfort.

Our Core, Strength & Mobility classes use Clinical Pilates techniques which are fantastic for injury rehabilitation and prevention as it works on core stability, posture, flexibility, and correcting muscle imbalances and weaknesses via specific strengthening. It can be used for arthritis, neck pain, back pain and various injuries.

Pilates is the secret tool that many high level and recreational athletes use to enhance their performance, decrease the risk of injuries and provide much-needed cross-training. Each sport has specific strength and flexibility requirements. When you book in for an assessment, your physiotherapist will look at the things you need to work on to improve your performance and then proceed to design a Pilates program for you.

I want to give a very favourable review for Kathrine Hickey. She takes the hydro class that I attend, and her classes are run very professionally while also having that element of fun. I think I can speak for ALL the participants when I say this. She is a credit to her position.

I’m really grateful for the care I have received at Nambour Sports and Spinal over the past few years.
In 2023, Ben Hones helped me recover from a kneecap subluxation with a tailored exercise program.
Then, in 2024, I had a pregnancy massage with Trudy who managed to release some intense rib pain that had plagued me for my whole pregnancy. Trudy was super knowledgeable and she also gave me some strategies to help care for my body during the last few weeks of pregnancy.
Now, in 2025, I’ve been so grateful for the care of Lexi Ironside who has been helping me recover from birth and get back into exercise.
I really can’t praise the team highly enough. Everyone I’ve ever seen has been super professional, and I’ve received very practical and effective care. Thank you!
