Linda Bennetts

Senior Physiotherapist

Linda Bennetts completed a diploma of Physiotherapy graduating from the Otago University in 1975. Linda’s love for the sport and the management of sports related injuries led her into a successful career in sporting arena. Linda was the first ever female physiotherapist to travel with a New Zealand Commonwealth Games or Olympic Games team to the Brisbane Commonwealth Games in 1982. Linda was also fortunate to be part of the first evet World Athletics Championships in Helsinki 1983 travelling with the New Zealand team.

Due to suffering from Rheumatoid Arthritis, the cold weather in Invercargill prompted a move to Brisbane in 1983. Since the move, Linda has been the resident physiotherapist at Wests Rugby Club for over 40 years, and worked with many representative rugby union teams including; Australian U19 1995, Australian U21 1996-2000, Australian 7’s and Queensland B in the 1990’s. As well as rugby Linda has also had the privilege of working with elite level athletes from many sports including her involvement with the Queensland Academy of Sport and Australian Institute of Sport.

Linda’s ‘holistic’ approach to the management of chronic pain, whereby she not only treats the symptoms but trails the causative factors and this has her on the forefront of the understanding and management of chronic pain in Brisbane. When Linda isn’t working, she enjoys sunshine at the beach, and spending time with her family.

Linda is not currently accepting online bookings. To make an appointment with Linda please call the Woolloongabba clinic on 07 3137 0599

Grip strength: it’s not just about winning bragging rights in the clinic (although, that’s definitely a bonus!) 💪

Strong grip strength is also a key indicator of overall health. Research shows people with stronger grips often experience better health outcomes, faster rehab, and even improved cognitive function as they age. It’s a simple way to track progress, guide strength training, and monitor rehabilitation.

Big thanks to the legends at @coolum_sportsandspinal for this clip, the team has some serious grip strength!
