Your Sports & Spinal Physiotherapist will provide you with long term solutions for your recovery and tailor your treatment plan to your history, injury and physical goals.

Your rehabilitation exercises are designed to quicken your recovery and build strength to prevent further injury. This may involve seeing a podiatrist, modifying footwear, or a combination of stretching, taping, and specific rehabilitation exercises to strengthen the structures of the foot and ankle.

Massage also helps recovery from soft tissue injuries such as sprains and strains. Everybody experiences some form of stress through work, family, the environment and society. Mental tensions, frustrations and insecurity cause the most damage. Hormones released by stress actually shrink the vessels, inhibiting circulation.

A stressed mind and body means the heart works harder. Breathing becomes rapid and shallow and digestion slows. Nearly every body process is degraded. Lymphatic Massage is commonly referred to as Lymphatic Drainage. Lymphatic drainage is a gentle, rhythmical massage treatment performed by a specially trained lymphatic massage therapist to stimulate the circulation of lymph fluid around the body. This helps to rapidly speed up the removal of wastes and toxins from a sluggish lymphatic system. Lymphatic massage can also aid in the prevention of swelling after injury or surgery. It is also thought to provide a major boost to your immune system.

If you have had a recent injury or surgery, suffer from poor circulation or are physically inactive, your limbs may be swollen up and your lymphatic system will need help to be effective again.

With manual Lymphatic Drainage lymph vessels are stimulated to open up and collect the excessive fluid which is then directed to the lymph nodes where it is filtered and can re-enter the bloodstream.

In addition, lymph nodes filter waste from our body cells and assist the immune system in building an immune response, that is why manual Lymphatic Drainage is also recommended if you want to boost your immune defences and detox.

Remedial Massage Therapist

Destiny is a Remedial Massage Therapist who enjoys incorporating various techniques into your treatments to ensure the best possible relief of your symptoms. Such methods may include cupping, passive stretches, trigger point, and myofascial therapy. Before your session, these are always discussed to clarify your needs and help tailor your customised treatment plan.

Since completing her remedial massage diploma in 2018 in Melbourne, Destiny has undergone specialised training in various modalities such as special needs (pediatric and palliative), pregnancy massage, reflexology, and aromatherapy. She loves a challenge and quenches her ongoing thirst for knowledge at the University of Queensland to narrow her focus to advanced treatments in the sports industry. Destiny joined our team in July 2021 and held an associate membership with Massage and Myotherapy Australia.

Remedial Massage Therapist

Pat Graduated from Q Academy Brisbane with a Diploma of Remedial Massage in September 2017. Pat has since expanded his clinical knowledge by continuing his professional education after completing his Diploma.
A highlight of Pat’s carer was being a member of the medical team at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games. Pat has worked alongside Physiotherapists, Chiropractors, and Myotherapist.
Pat uses various Remedial techniques in his treatments, including Cupping, Dry Needling, Trigger Point Release, Muscle Energy Techniques, Myofascial Release, Rock blades Massage Tools, Deep Tissue Work and Relaxation Massages.
Pat likes to road cycle and loves going to the Gym. Pat also loves getting away for long weekends with his two dogs and camper trailer. In his downtime, you can catch him volunteering his time as a Motorsport Fire and Rescue office. Pat has also volunteered at various events in Bathurst, Gold Coast, Townsville, Newcastle, Australian and Singaporean Formula 1 GP and many local grassroots events in Ipswich and Warwick.

Parking @ Woolloongabba

We are located at 48 Annerley Road, Woolloongabba. There are 5 parking spaces located on site in front of the clinic which are reserved for clients between 7.30am and 6pm. If these parks are full there is overflow street parking nearby. As Woolloongabba is considered a metered parking zone, all streets are subject to metered parking.

The main streets we recommend are Heaslop, Crown and Catherine streets. Heaslop street, the street adjacent to us, has 30 minute, 2 hour and 4 hour parking. Crown Street, the street opposite us, has 2 hour and 8 hour parking available whilst Catherine street, which is on the other side of our block, has 4 hour parking only. It is also possible park on Annerley Road from 930-330pm in the designated marked parking space (fines are incurred outside of this time due to peak traffic periods). Parking costs $2.70 per hour – for more information, please find the relevant link to the Brisbane City Council website.

Please note we do recognise that you have a choice of therapists and as such, we would like to thank you for choosing us by reimbursing any parking costs which may be incurred by visiting us. Please bring in your receipt at the time of your consultation. Finally, please do not park in the vacant parking lot located off Heaslop Street, opposite the bike shop, as hefty fines will be incurred.
