Bayside Physiotherapy team have joined the Sports & Spinal family to continue to provide the Highest Quality Patient Care. We are located on the beautiful Fraser Coast in Urraween, conveniently located near Kawungan, Scarness, Pialba, Dundowran, Torquay, Urangan, Eli Waters, Point Vernon, Wondunna and Nikenbah.
With an emphasis on core conditioning, breathing and body awareness, our Core, Strength & Mobility classes are a safe and highly effective way to stretch, strengthen and streamline your body without building bulk or stressing your joints.
Core, Strength & Mobility classes utilise various exercises that incorporate balance, power, strength and stability.
This can be done either using the Pilates equipment (reformer, trapeze table, exercise ball etc.) in a CSM Studio class or the form of a Mat Class, utilising bodyweight and minimal equipment. From here, we build and progress your program as appropriate with continued advice and education throughout, so you left feeling a better version of YOU.
Our Core, Strength & Mobility classes are a fitness regime for life, performed on a mat or with specialised equipment. The perfect complement to cardiovascular exercise, sport, rehab and life, these classes will leave you looking toned, feeling revitalised and moving with ease.
Both Physiotherapists and Exercise Physiologists run our classes with Clinical Pilates Experience. Clinical Pilates refers to one-on-one Pilates that are often used for injury rehabilitation and used in conjunction with physiotherapy. Sports & Spinal offers both and can cater to your exact needs.
Programs are commonly utilised to support spinal stability, postural control, injury recovery and long-term movement efficiency for patients across Hervey Bay and surrounding coastal communities. Sessions are structured to complement physiotherapy and exercise physiology care, making Clinical Pilates suitable for individuals returning from injury, managing persistent pain or seeking guided movement in a clinically supervised setting.
All patients are required to have an initial assessment with a Physiotherapist or Exercise Physiologist before beginning any of our classes. This is to familiarise patients with any equipment, positions, exercises and identify any injuries/restrictions that we may need to be aware of prior to a patient attending a class.
This approach allows Pilates to function as both a rehabilitative tool and a proactive strategy for maintaining physical capacity over time.
Bayside Physiotherapy/Sports & Spinal Hervey Bay is NDIS registered and accepts Medicare rebates and HICAPS health fund claims. EFTPOS and credit card facilities are also available for payment.

From booking, reception to physio everyone was friendly and professional
I’m currently seeing a lady here & she has been phenomenal and very knowledgeable of my injury. She shows compassion and empathy but also very honest. The reception staff are lovely and easy to deal with.
Great staff and the physiotherapist are so talented and know their trade.
The staff here are amazing.
Their knowledge is top notch and their commitment to rehab and getting the most out of minimising your recovery time is great.
They do hands on therapy, exercise programs, Pilates reformer, weights and more.
If you injure yourself and need some rehab, give them a look.
I have very complex physical medical conditions and saw Alanah today. She was positive, supportive, listened extremely well and responded perfectly to the severe pain I was in. Her massage skills and interest in what worked best for me were second to none. Well worth the time and money and I can’t wait to work with her again. Thank you Alanah….I haven’t needed to take the strong pain relief this evening I have had to take usually 🙂
Our team had an wonderful time at the @physioaustralia Career Connect event on Saturday! 🥳
It`s Tradies National Health Month, an initiative by @physioaustralia (APA) highlighting the physical and mental demands faced by Australia`s tradies.
One week to go! 🎉
We couldn`t have said it better than @sportsandspinalstrathpine 😂
It takes an incredible team to bring Better Outcomes Conference to life, and we couldn`t do it without our amazing sponsors!
It’s hard to believe we’re almost eight months into the year!
Just two weeks to go!
Australia is facing a chronic shortage of healthcare professionals, and we urgently need more graduates entering the allied health workforce.
We had the opportunity to connect with the future generation of physiotherapists, discuss private practice and community (@team_rehab_solutions ) pathways, showcase some of our VALD equipment and book in multiple interviews!
If you’re interested in working with Sports & Spinal Group, our team are now accepting EOl’s for 2027 New Grad positions. Link in bio!
We can’t wait for next year’s event!
The latest APA survey paints a concerning picture:
🔨 90% of tradies experienced work-related injuries or pain in the past year
🔨 76% said pain significantly impacts their quality of life
🔨 42% described their pain as severe
🔨 24% worry they`ll need to retire early because of the toll their work takes on their bodies
Whether you`re on the tools every day or managing the demands of a physically demanding job, looking after your body matters.
Our multidisciplinary team, including physiotherapists, exercise physiologists, podiatrists, occupational therapists, psychologists, dietitians, massage therapists and more, can work with you to assess injuries, manage pain, support recovery and help you stay healthy for the long haul.
A big thank you to the Australian Physiotherapy Association for continuing to shine a light on the health and wellbeing of Australia`s tradies through Tradies National Health Month.

Thank you for your support. If you`ve visited one of our clinics, the team would love to see your experience on their Google pages! 🙏
A huge thank you to these fantastic organisations for jumping on board and helping make the Better Outcomes Conference 2026 possible. We`re so excited to have you with us for a day of learning, collaboration and connection.
See you in two weeks!
To our 2026 New Grad cohort, we couldn’t be prouder of everything you’ve achieved.
Over the past few months, we’ve watched you grow in confidence, embrace every learning opportunity and build meaningful relationships with your patients. Seeing your appointment books fill, hearing the positive feedback from patients and colleagues, and watching you settle into your teams has been incredibly rewarding.
Recently, we also came together for our Mid-Year Refresher Training, taking time to reflect, reconnect and continue building on everything you`ve learned so far. Supporting our New Grads doesn`t stop after orientation, it`s something we`re committed to throughout the year and beyond.
You`re doing an incredible job, and we can`t wait to see what the rest of the year has in store.

The countdown is on for the #BetterOutcomesConference2026 🙌
In just 14 days, clinicians, legal professionals and industry leaders from more than 20 disciplines will come together in Brisbane to learn from one another, share ideas and strengthen the way we work together.
Why? Because when professionals collaborate, the people we care for benefit.
Proudly hosted by Sports & Spinal Group @travis_schultz_partners, the Better Outcomes Conference is all about building stronger connections, sharing knowledge and finding new ways to deliver even better care and support for our patients and communities.
We can`t wait to welcome our colleagues and partners for another inspiring day of learning, collaboration and connection.
#BetterOutcomesConference #BetterCare #AlliedHealth #HealthcareCollaboration #SportsAndSpinal
To qualify, students across occupational therapy, physiotherapy, psychology and other allied health professions are required to complete hundreds, and in some cases thousands, of hours of mandatory unpaid clinical placement.
Many experience significant financial hardship during this time, often referred to as `placement poverty`, due to lost income and the added costs of travel, accommodation, food and other living expenses.
To help address this issue, Allied Health Professions Australia (AHPA) has launched a national petition calling for the Commonwealth Prac Payment to be expanded to all allied health students.
We encourage you to support the next generation of allied health professionals by signing the petition and helping end placement poverty.
