Ed McHugh

General Physiotherapy

Ed graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy Degree from Nottingham University in the UK in 2005 and went on to complete an MSc in advanced musculoskeletal physiotherapy from Hertfordshire University in 2014. Ed is a highly skilled and dynamic physiotherapist with a proven track record of expertise in the management of musculoskeletal conditions. Ed has previously studied Sports Science at the prestigious Loughborough University and combines his knowledge in this field to help develop effective rehabilitation and exercise prescription

.Ed has been fortunate to have worked in a variety of clinical settings which have given him a wholesome understanding of physiotherapy to a variety of patient groups and settings. Ed has worked in private sports physiotherapy clinics, corporate healthcare, occupational health and private hospital facilities as well as running his own private practice.

Ed’s specialist interests are treating sports injuries with a particular interest in the analysis of movement patterns in their role in injury. Ed also has an interest in treating spinal pain conditions using a variety of manual techniques, acupuncture and rehabilitation to help patients achieve their goals.

Julie Gear

Neck, Headaches & Shoulder

Julie graduated from the University of Otago in New Zealand in 1998 and has gained a wealth of experience working in busy clinics around the world, including a professional sports centre in France, the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre in London and a clinic in the ski resort of Verbier in Switzerland. She has worked with rugby teams in New Zealand and the England Volleyball team in the UK.

Julie has postgraduate training in ergonomics and Pilates and is also a qualified acupuncturist having studied both in the UK and in China. Julie combines her training in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Intra-Muscular Stimulation with traditional physiotherapy treatment techniques for optimum results.

Julie has a special interest in spinal problems and headaches.

Jaime Singleton

Women's Health Physiotherapist

Jaime graduated from the University of Queensland in 2006 and has worked in both the private and public sectors in the field of Women’s Health Physiotherapy for over 12 years. Jaime has worked solely in one of the largest maternity hospitals in Australia, until most recently leading the Allied Health teams in both the newly established Queensland Persistent Pelvic Pain clinic, and the Queensland Pelvic Mesh Service, both aimed specifically at pain and physio management for women. 

Jaime has done further postgraduate study through the University of Melbourne, has trained undergraduate and postgraduate students in this field, and has presented at numerous conferences on varying topics on Women’s Health Physiotherapy. 

Jaime has extensive experience in treating women across the lifespan, from adolescent pelvic pain to pregnancy and postnatal related conditions, as well as post-menopausal and gynaecological concerns. Jaime treats women’s related complaints such as incontinence, prolapse, mastitis, bowel concerns, pregnancy-related pain, pelvic mesh-related concerns, painful sex conditions, and endometriosis-related pain. 

Jaime focuses on supporting and championing women to take control of conditions affecting their lives and is especially passionate when it comes to persistent pain management and safe exercise prescription to suit individual needs. Jaime is also trained as a Clinical Pilates instructor, as well as in dry needling, so can utilise these techniques into her treatment regimes.

Holly Ryan

General Physiotherapy

Holly is a new graduate physiotherapists joining the Sports & Spinal team, having graduated from James Cook University in Townsville in 2019. She has moved to the Sunshine Coast having spent her whole life in North Queensland, and is excited by all that the Coast has to offer.

Holly has always had a passion for all things relating to exercise, physical activity and well-being, with her favourite sport being hockey for which she made the Queensland team.

Given her personal experience with the devastation that ACL injuries can have on young sporting people, she is interested in running ACL injury prevention programs and younger athlete development programs in the future.

Holly will be available for bookings at both Caloundra and Sippy Downs clinics. She has a positive, encouraging and methodical approach to treatment. Holly can’t wait to work collaboratively with patients to achieve their individual rehabilitation goals, and to provide them with the tools and knowledge to assist them to return to the activities they love.

Leila Jobson

General Physiotherapy

My name is Leila Jobson, I grew up on the Sunshine Coast and I love the outdoors lifestyle. I moved to Newcastle to complete my Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) at the University of Newcastle and have since returned to the Sunshine Coast.

I enjoy working with people of all age groups and I pride myself on being friendly and personable. My favourite part of the physiotherapy profession is working in a team that assists and encourages people of all ages to have the opportunity to live an active lifestyle.

Throughout the course of my degree, I have gained knowledge and developed a strong passion for Women’s Health Physiotherapy.

Subsequent to Women’s Health, I have developed a special interest in the rehabilitation of shoulder injuries.

My hobbies include distance running, playing with my two dogs and spending weekends at the beach.

Cheyne Lee

Exercise Physiologist

Cheyne completed a Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology at the University of the Sunshine Coast where she discovered how exercise can truly be medicine. She finds joy in helping people improve their independence and lead happier, healthier lives with their loved ones. With her warm and bubbly personality, she will ensure you feel supported and empowered to achieve your health goals through a holistic, evidence-based approach.

Cheyne has experience in the prevention and management of osteoporosis/osteopenia and has special interests in individualised exercise prescription for chronic health conditions such as cardiac and metabolic diseases as well as neurological conditions such as stroke and Parkinson’s disease.

Additionally, Cheyne runs hydrotherapy sessions and is also a qualified Pilates instructor, delivering Core Strength Mobility (CSM) classes.

Chelsea completed her Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology at the University of the Sunshine Coast. Chelsea is passionate about all aspects of Exercise Physiology and has a strong interest in neurological conditions and disability. She is committed to utilising a patient-centred approach and the latest evidence to provide high-quality care to suit each individual patient and their specific needs and goals. Chelsea finds great joy in helping others and aspires to empower and educate patients so that they can continue improving their quality of life and reach their full potential.

Faith Cochrane

Exercise Physiologist

Faith is an Exercise Physiologist from Tasmania, graduating from the University of the Sunshine Coast, who now considers the Sunshine Coast home.
Faith is motivated to optimise the quality of life for all that come to see her, ensuring sessions and programs address personal goals, current ability and lifestyles.
She has a passion for Women’s Health and movement analysis, looking at how to you’re moving daily that has an impact on your musculoskeletal aches and pains.

During her time off Faith likes to mountain climb, mountain bike, play soccer and be down on the beach with her dog. Faith believes that motion is lotion so let’s get moving!

Tarni Sanewski

Dietitian

Tarni is an Accredited Practising Dietitian who is passionate about improving health, promoting recovery and preventing disease by inspiring healthy diet and lifestyle choices using a patient-centred approach. Graduating from the University of the Sunshine Coast with a Bachelor of Nutrition & Dietetics, Tarni has since had clinical experience working with acute cardiac and respiratory patients in the hospital. Special interest areas include rehabilitation, weight management, cardiovascular disease, and gut health.

Outside of work, Tarni enjoys hiking, climbing mountains, exploring new places, drawing and photography. She is always experimenting with new foods, recipes and keeping up to date with the latest research in nutrition and dietetics.
