Simran Shah

Ankle, Knee & Lower Limb Physiotherapist

Simran joined Chermside Sports and Spinal, bringing expertise in lower back, knee and ankle pain. Simran works closely with some of Brisbane’s leading surgeons and has worked with Australia’s leading physiotherapists. She is an enthusiastic learner who enjoys keeping up with the latest evidence-based practices.

Simran has done extra training in Pilates, Hip and Vestibular physiotherapy.

In her spare time, she enjoys playing all sports, especially tennis and travelling.

Sam Moyle

Lower Back & Spinal Rehab Physiotherapist

Physiotherapy was a natural career choice for Sam, having competed at a high level in track and field, cricket, touch football and Australian Rules Football. He realised the impact of strong physical health and its impact on physical and emotional wellbeing.

Sam graduated from the University of Queensland with first-class honours and began his career in the public sector. He enjoyed gaining valuable experience in pre and post-surgery treatment protocols and excellent communication skills to provide optimum client care. Sam has worked with and learnt from some of Australia’s leading neurological physiotherapists. He used these effective skills when screening for more serious conditions to ensure his treatment plans reflect the needs of his clients.

Sam then transitioned into private practice and was able to apply his knowledge and skills working with some of Queensland’s premier cricket and football clubs.

Sam has recently returned from working in the United Kingdom. He worked as a Lead Physiotherapist in the heart of London with some of the world’s leading sports physicians and orthopaedic surgeons, enhancing his theoretical and practical knowledge within this vibrant and stimulating environment. Sam developed close working relationships with acclaimed shoulder, spinal and foot/ankle surgeons, constantly learning, refining and enhancing his current practice.

Sam looks forward to bringing his knowledge and experience to Sports and Spinal and learning from his new colleagues and patients about the provision of exemplary physiotherapy care. Sam’s patients will benefit from an excellent communicator and active listener who will provide a hands-on approach to quality care and expert exercise prescription skills.

In his leisure time, Sam enjoys the outdoors. He loves to explore the South East Queensland walking tracks, and he is a keen cricketer and runner. Sam played cricket in England and is always looking to lower his 10km running PB. Sam’s overall professional goal is to provide optimum health care to all those who engage with him.

Adam Horwitz

Shoulder, Neck and Headache Physiotherapist

Adam graduated from The University of Sydney with an applied science degree in Exercise and Sports Science followed by a Masters of Physiotherapy. He has undergone further training in Western Acupuncture and Dry Needling and attended a range of courses for the management of shoulder pain, headaches, TMJ Disorders (Jaw Joint), vertigo/vestibular dysfunction and spinal pathologies.

Adam developed a keen interest in Physiotherapy and injury management through competing in Football, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Squash over the years. He uses a variety of techniques to help diagnose and treat his client’s injuries. His effective treatment planning includes easy to understand advice and education, soft tissue therapy, joint mobilisations and exercise prescription.

His inpatient hospital training gave him an in-depth knowledge of medical management of various conditions and the effect hospitalisation can have on the body after discharge. Adam is fortunate to have worked with some of the country’s leading hip, knee, shoulder, and spinal specialists. He is well experienced rehabilitating patients following joint replacements, including; Total Knee Replacements, Total Hip Replacement and Total Shoulder Replacements.

Through further training in Pilates and his involvement with Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, Adam has a deep understanding of human movement, biomechanics, and exercise to stimulate adaptation and recovery.

Adam has extensive experience in managing sports-related injuries. He has worked with the Sydney FC strength and conditioning team and provided on-field injury management for the Tongan Rugby 7s Youth Olympic team.

Adam recognises that every client is unique and recognises the importance of collaboration with his clients and their wider medical team (GP, specialists and other health professionals) to manage their pain and decipher what the ideal form of rehabilitation will be for them.

In his spare time, Adam likes to hike, train Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, play guitar and travel.

Jason Vaughan

Hip & Lower Limb Physiotherapist

Jason graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) from the University of Queensland. He is a physiotherapist currently working with the Brisbane Roar Football Club A-League squad. He has completed post-graduate training in hip and groin management, football medicine and is working towards being awarded the title of APA Sports Physiotherapist. He has also completed further training in complex shoulder pain and pathology taught by one of the world’s leading shoulder experts.
Jason has a keen interest in all Musculoskeletal and Sports Physiotherapy areas with a particular focus on the hip. He lowers limb, acute and chronic lumbar spine pain and sports injuries for all levels of athletes. He has done post-graduate coursework in Dry Needling and Western Acupuncture, which he incorporates into his treatment plans.

Jason was previously the Head Physiotherapist for the Virginia United FC men’s football teams and has provided pitch-side first aid for Olympic FC, Wests Bulldogs Rugby Union, Easts Tigers Rugby Union, and Marist College Ashgrove.

Jason is experienced in diagnosing and addressing his clients’ painful problems and movement habits, developing step-by-step treatment plans, and building long-term resilience when the pain has eased to ensure the injury does not return. Through active, hands-on, and research-based management, Jason ensures his clients achieve their short and long-term goals and improve their health and quality of life.

Outside of the clinic, Jason is an avid sports fan. You will find Jason enjoying getting outdoors, playing sports, eating his way around town, and working towards French fluency in his spare time.

Prue Barker

Women's Health/ General Physiotherapist

Prue graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) from the University of Queensland. She enjoys treating a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions and has an interest in injury prevention. Prue is passionate about getting people back to doing what they love. Her treatment plans combine hands-on treatment with tailored exercise programs.

Prue is a qualified Pilates instructor and has completed additional coursework in lateral hip pain. Her most preferred areas to treat include the lower back, hip and pre and post-natal conditions. Prue is currently completing her Women’s Health Physiotherapy training to complement her current skillset.

One of Prue’s strengths as a clinician is using easy-to-understand language to explain complex anatomical terms. She consistently receives raving reviews from her patients.

Outside of work, Prue enjoys the outdoors and many sports, particularly swimming and running.

Corey Prior

Physiotherapist
Corey joined the Chermside Sports and Spinal Physiotherapy team after studying both Exercise Science and a Masters of Physiotherapy at Griffith University. He has a strong interest in the human body and spent 3 years tutoring university students in anatomy. He is passionate about diagnosing the correct condition and delving further into identifying the true cause of somebody’s pain.
Corey is a Level 1 CrossFit coach and is an expert in the lower back, hip, knee and shoulder pain. He prides himself on keeping his patients active through the initial phases of injury and develops long term solutions for his clients. Corey provides practical solutions to technical movement considerations often missed.
Corey addresses his patients problems in a systematic ordered approach that looks at the whole person and is the primary contributor to the popular LVLUP online blog.

Outside of physiotherapy and coaching, Corey is passionately working on his own training and progressions. Corey also enjoys Sunday morning coffees and walks with his miniature dachshund, Sadie.

Haleh Faham

Women’s Health & General Physiotherapist

Haleh has over a decade of experience as a Physiotherapist, having worked in private practice, community care and hospital settings. She has a special interest in Women’s Health, pelvic pain, and incontinence physiotherapy. She can manage a wide range of pelvic health conditions, including:

– Bladder dysfunctions: Urgency, Nocturia, Incontinence,

– Bowel dysfunctions: Constipation, Obstructive disorders, Incontinence and Fissures

– Pelvic pain; Vaginismus, Vulvodynia, Endometriosis

– Prolapse management (including pessary fitting)

– Pregnancy and postnatal care, pregnancy pelvic pain, and return to exercise.

Haleh also assists many patients suffering from lower back pain to reach their goals. She continues to have a keen interest in developing her knowledge and skills to enhance her treatment approach. She is actively involved in mentoring upcoming Women’s Health Physiotherapists in the Sports and Spinal group. She is passionate about positively impacting a person’s overall health, happiness, and ability to live life to the fullest.

Outside of work, Haleh loves hiking, swimming, playing the keyboard and oil painting.

Haleh is also fluent in Persian.

Kirra Womersley

Exercise Physiologist

Kirra graduated with a Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology (Honours) at the University of Queensland.  Kirra is passionate about exercise physiology but has a special interest in neurological, cardiovascular and musculoskeletal rehabilitation.

Since moving on from elite track and field in 2016, Kirra has continued her passion for physical activity.  She is committed to patient-centred care and finds it incredibly rewarding to work alongside clients to achieve goals that may never have seemed possible.  Kirra is passionate about the widespread benefits of exercise and is committed to finding an activity to suit everyone.

When Kirra is not at the clinic, you can find her bouldering or researching the latest running shoes.

Louise Dunn

Podiatrist

Louise Dunn gained her Bachelor of Science (podiatry) degree at the University of Brighton in the UK. She previously worked in the NHS, focusing on Diabetes/wound management and rehab care for several years. Louise emigrated with her family to Australia in 2003 and has continued with her work in the private sector, providing a range of treatments from general foot care to orthotic therapy, nail surgery, footwear advice and children’s feet. Louise does clinical work and home visits in the local community, treating private patients, DVA, EPC and Transition Care.

Thomas Abraham

General Care, Sports & Exercise Podiatrist

Podiatrist – Areas Treated: Foot, Ankle, Knee, Toenail Care

Tom graduated from the Queensland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Podiatry. Since leaving university, he has gained an interest in sports injuries, biomechanics and wound care and is always looking to learn more, allowing him to provide the best treatment he can. Tom has also spent some time working with running footwear, specifically ASICS.
During school and university, Tom was actively involved in playing soccer, tennis and completed athletics up to a state-level on a few occasions. Tom is a keen traveller spending a year in Europe and some time in Nepal volunteering and completing the Everest base camp trek. Tom also enjoys snowboarding when he can.

Dietitian

Georgia is an Accredited Practising Dietitian, completing her Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics at Griffith University on the Gold Coast. She strives to ensure her clients feel supported and empowered throughout their journey to better health through nutrition. Using evidence-based practice, Georgia can tailor nutrition strategies to each client to meet their goals. Georgia’s special interest areas include weight management, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and gastrointestinal health.
