Michael Davis

Lower Back & Spinal Rehab

Michael studied in New Zealand and graduated with a Bachelor of Health Science, majoring in Physiotherapy from Auckland University of Technology. He has gone on to complete a postgraduate certificate in western acupuncture and has attended NZMPA courses for the management of neck, low back and upper limb pathologies.

Michael has developed a high level of experience in spinal rehabilitation working closely with neurosurgeons (BrizBrain & Spine), pain specialists and GPs. In his time in New Zealand, he formed a strong interested in musculoskeletal physiotherapy working with numerous sporting teams, schools, high-performance athletes and the general public. He has a client-centred approach, working together with patients and their treating specialists to achieve optimal function and performance in their personal or sporting goals.

In his spare time, he enjoys the outdoors and many sports including cricket, rugby, tennis and golf.

Alana Dinsdale

Neck, Jaw & Headache

Alana is a passionate physiotherapist who is experienced in working with a wide range of musculoskeletal complaints. She enjoys the challenge of finding and addressing the root cause of a problem and works closely with her patients and other health professionals to deliver the best treatment possible.

Since graduating with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from UQ in 2012, Alana has gone on to further her knowledge through various conferences and courses.

She has developed a particular interest in spinal rehabilitation, and treatment of neck pain, TMJ dysfunction and headaches. Alana uses a number of techniques with her patients including dry needling, manual therapy, exercise prescription and pilates.

Marnie Crosdale

Musculoskeletal & Women’s Health

Marnie Crosdale graduated from Australian Catholic University with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy. She has developed a keen interest in Female Power Lifting and associated sport-related injuries and rehabilitation.

Marnie has completed further postgraduate training in dry needling and Women’s Health conditions and is passionate about promoting prenatal women’s health and fitness and returning post-partum women to exercise safely.

Jess Morey

Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy

Jessica graduated with a Master of Physiotherapy and Bachelor of Exercise Science from Griffith University. Her Physiotherapy passion lies within the sporting and athletic domain, which has developed from an extensive history with Athletics, competing as a middle distance runner.

Jess believes in treating the presenting injury while also treating the underlying cause, allowing her clients to successfully perform at their peak all year round. Jess strives to work as a partnership with her clients to provide high-quality evidence-based treatment, allowing you to achieve your goals and get back to the things you enjoy.

Jason Vaughan

General Physiotherapy

Jason graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) from the University of Queensland. He is passionate about seeing clients achieve their short and long-term goals to improve their health and quality of life. Jason’s focus is on providing active, evidence-based approaches for his clients to ensure they receive the highest level of care.

Jason has a keen interest in all areas of Musculoskeletal and Sports Physiotherapy, particularly in acute & chronic pain, the lower limb and sports injuries for all levels of athletes. Over the past three years, he has enjoyed providing pitch-side first aid coverage for a range of football, rugby union and league teams such as Olympic FC, Wests Bulldogs Rugby Union, Easts Tigers Rugby Union, Normanby Hounds Rugby League and Marist College Ashgrove.

Outside of work, Jason enjoys basketball, rugby, cooking and travel.

Adam Horwitz

Shoulder & Neck Rehab

Adam Horwitz completed his Master of Physiotherapy degree at The University of Sydney, following completion of a degree in Exercise and Sport Science. He developed a keen interest in physiotherapy as a young athlete overcoming injuries when competing in football, rugby union and martial arts.

He has a passion for assessment and treatment of shoulder conditions in particular. He also has a keen interest in treating the neck and headache conditions involving the cervical spine. With his experience as a sports trainer and Pilates instructor, he strives to help his clients control their pain and achieve their functional goals.

Sam Moyle

General Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy was a natural career choice for Sam, having competed at a high level in track and field, cricket, touch football and Australian Rules Football. He realised the impact of strong physical health and its impact on physical and emotional wellbeing.

Sam graduated from the University of Queensland with first-class honours and began his career in the public sector where he enjoyed gaining valuable experience in pre and post-surgery treatment protocols as well using his excellent communication skills in providing optimum client care. Sam has worked with and learnt from, some of Australia’s leading neurological physiotherapists. He used these effective skills when screening for more serious conditions to ensure his treatment plans reflect the needs of his clients.

Sam then made the transition into private practice and was able to apply his knowledge and skills working with some of Queensland’s premier cricket and football clubs.

Sam has recently returned from working in the United Kingdom. He worked as a Lead Physiotherapist in the heart of London with some of the world’s leading sports physicians and orthopaedic surgeons enhancing his theoretical and practical knowledge within this vibrant and stimulating environment. Sam developed close working relationships with acclaimed shoulder, spinal and foot/ankle surgeons constantly learning, refining and enhancing his current practice.

Sam looks forward to bringing his knowledge and experience to Sports and Spinal as well as learning from his new colleagues and patients about the provision of exemplary physiotherapy care. Sam’s patients will benefit from an excellent communicator, an active listener who will provide a hands-on approach to quality care and expert exercise prescription skills.

In his leisure time, Sam enjoys the outdoors. He loves to explore the South East Queensland walking tracks and he is a keen cricketer and runner. Sam played cricket in England and is always looking to lower his 10km running PB. Sam’s overall professional goal is to provide optimum health care to all those who engage with him.

Matthew Crear

Exercise Physiology

Matt graduated from James Cook University with a bachelor of Exercise Physiology (Clinical) in 2016. Since he spent two years working in Hervey Bay where he was able to implement an injury prevention program to a wide variety of athletes. Along with his interest in aiding athletes to return to full health post-injury, Matt also worked closely with those who have osteoporosis, T2DM and general musculoskeletal injuries.

Matt started work with Sports and Spinal in 2019, where he has grown to develop a special interest in a return to sport / full capacity, pre and post-operative rehabilitation, persistent pain and chronic disease management.

Matt is a passionate fitness enthusiast who has battled through several injuries himself. Currently, you’ll find Matt playing golf a few times a week, in the gym, doing pilates or running, along with playing social sports wherever he can.

Sally Tyben

Remedial Massage Therapist

Sally believes that helping people achieve health and wellbeing is one of the most amazing things you could do for others.

Through a love and passion for massage, Sally obtained her Diploma of Remedial Massage Therapy through the Australian College of Massage in Melbourne in 2008.

Sally has worked closely with clients with all forms of muscular tension and pain. Sally’s strongest style of massage is remedial based, providing the client with deep tissue movements that will release tension and stress.

Ashleigh East

Remedial Massage Therapist

Ashleigh has been practicing massage for over 5 years and completed her Remedial Massage Therapy studies at the Australian Institute of Applied Science in early 2016. She is very results driven and loves to see improvement in her clients and their well-being.

Ashleigh uses Cupping, Trigger Point Therapy, and Deep Tissue/ Remedial techniques to ensure her clients walk away with more movement and less tension with a special interest in the management of chronic headaches and neck tension. She is also trained in relaxation and pregnancy massage.

Dylan McDonald

Podiatrist

Dylan graduated from Queensland University of Technology as a Podiatrist, following earlier studies in Exercise and Nutrition Science (Hons.) at the University of Queensland. He continually expands on his knowledge and skills to keep up-to-date with the developing science behind lower limb conditions and injuries.

Whilst Dylan has a special interest in sports and biomechanical podiatry (including paediatric patients), he has experience treating all aspects of general lower limb and foot care. Dylan utilises biomechanical assessments, gait/movement analysis, orthotic therapy, footwear assessment and recommendations, dry needling and general/diabetic screenings to get the best outcomes for his clients. He has a unique skillset in foot mobilisation and manipulation which has formed part of his continuing clinical expertise.

Dylan has been involved in numerous sports as a junior athlete, particularly in AFL where he has previously held roles as a strength and conditioning coach and sports trainer (current) with the Queensland Junior Talent programs. In his spare time, Dylan enjoys travelling, live music and working on his handicap out on the golf course.

Louise Dunn

Podiatrist

Louise Dunn gained her Bachelor of Science (podiatry) degree at the University of Brighton in the UK. She previously worked in the NHS, focusing on Diabetes/wound management and rehab care for a number of years. Louise emigrated with her family to Australia in 2003 and has continued with her work in the private sector, providing a range of treatments from general foot care to orthotic therapy, nail surgery, footwear advice and children’s feet. Louise does both clinical work and home visits in the local community, treating private patients, DVA, EPC and Transition Care.

Chelsea McCallum

Dietitian

Chelsea studied a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of the Sunshine Coast. Since graduating, Chelsea has gained experience in recipe development, aged care, corporate wellness, disability and one-on-one consults. She has further developed her knowledge in irritable bowel syndrome, the gut microbiome, and gut health attending several workshops and courses within Australia and internationally in the UK. Chelsea also welcomes clients wanting to achieve weight loss, those with dyslipidemia and other chronic diseases such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

All patients are welcomed including GP referred, NDIS, DVA, Work Cover and privately paying. Chelsea is available for Dietitian appointments online as well as at our Chermside, Woolloongabba, Springfield and North Lakes locations.

Kate Brayley

Psychologist

Kate is a registered general and performance psychologist with a Master of Psychology (Sport and Exercise) from the University of Queensland. She has practised as a psychologist in a wide range of settings including the performing arts, sport and exercise, clinical psychology, and drug and alcohol support services. She draws on a range of evidence-based therapies to promote self-awareness and support clients to develop and maintain social, emotional, mental and physical health and well-being. She has a genuine, warm and respectful style, and believes that everyone has the potential and ability to realise their own strengths. She is interested in the relationship between physical and mental/emotional health, and in the benefits of being proactive in the prevention of mental health issues.

Parking is located through the keep clear off Hamilton Road to the rear of the building. Sports and Spinal have 5 car parks along the front wall that are shared with Campbell cosmetic Hearing.

If these parks are full please try and park along the back fence or in the parking allocated for other businesses closest to Hamilton Road. Do not park in the large area nearest to chemist warehouse (behind Mega Buy) to avoid being towed
