Raj Kumar

Podiatrist

Raj has been a sports fan all his life. He grew up playing soccer, but his main passion is rugby league. He proudly supports the Brisbane Broncos (they are his life!). He loves to solve problems and has a passion for treating patients of all ages and abilities. He graduated from Southern Cross University with a Bachelor of Podiatry. Prior to podiatry, he graduated with a Bachelor of Biological Science from Queensland University of Technology. He gathered extensive knowledge and experience with footwear while working at The Athlete’s Foot for nine years, working closely with world renowned brands.

The reason Raj became a Podiatrist was to help people achieve their goals and to treat lower limb injuries. His special interest is biomechanics and solving lower limb foot pathologies such as bone stress and tendon or ligament injuries. He also has a soft spot for community outreach and helping people with their foot care needs in the comfort of their own home.

Raj’s interest in foot health extends to nail surgeries, biomechanical assessments, general foot care and community allied health services.

Outside of work, he enjoys going to the beach and physical activity such as the gym or playing social sports such as touch footy, indoor soccer and basketball. He also enjoys road trips, adventure, trying out new things and exploring what Queensland or Australia has to offer. Raj emphatically states: “There is nothing more invigorating than having you closest friends and family with you while exploring the World’s natural wonders.”

Raj is Brisbane-born and bred and currently lives on the North side of Brisbane. He can drink coffee all day whilst eating Japanese food. You may catch him at your local café or Japanese restaurant.

Raj is available for Podiatry appointments at our Chermside and Redcliffe Sports & Spinal clinics and in home care throughout Brisbane.

Cara completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the Australian Catholic University in Brisbane. Since leaving university, she has gained experience in many areas of physiotherapy, including musculoskeletal, chronic pain, pilates, orthopaedics, cardiorespiratory and neurological rehabilitation.

Cara understands what it is like to have an injury and knows how it can affect an individual physically, socially, and emotionally. Therefore, you can be reassured that she will have your best interests at the forefront of her care. Together you will smash goals and return to what you love doing.

Trudi Mercer

Physiotherapist

Trudi grew up in the UK competing in many different sports which ignited her interest in physiotherapy. After graduating from Kings College London in 2014 with a BSc Honours degree in physiotherapy, she gained a wealth of experience within acute hospital settings. In a large teaching hospital in central London, she treated patients with a huge range of conditions in multiple specialties. After a few years she returned back to her hometown to progress her career in a private hospital.

This led to Trudi working with industry-leading surgeons on patients wanting to return to all levels of activity with complex orthopaedic procedures, both in the public and private sector. Trudi was then able to combine her love for sports and physiotherapy, working with several professional sports teams. This included high-performing athletes at a Championship Rugby Union side, a British Basketball Championship side and an internationally acclaimed performing arts Institute.

In order to keep her practices up to date and relevant, Trudi has completed advanced taping courses, developed her dry needling skills and continued to progress her exercise prescription. She also opened her own small business in the UK focusing on clients in the community who require extensive physio after long hospital stays or injuries that threaten their independence. As a result, she boasts an extensive knowledge of specific and appropriate rehabilitation from injury.

Because of her 10 years in the industry, Trudi is very capable of treating a wide range of conditions. She has a particular interest in acute back and neck problems, through to ankle, knee and foot rehabilitation with specific goals to return to sport. She strives to provide a personal service to all clients and age groups who seek out physiotherapy at Sports & Spinal.

Outside of work Trudi enjoys playing tennis regularly and practices what she preaches with her dedication to the gym. She takes any opportunity to travel the world with her partner hence their big move to Australia!

Trudi is available for physiotherapy appointments at our North Lakes and Redcliffe clinics.
