Have you been diagnosed with Coeliac Disease?

Here are my top three tips to manage your condition:

  1. Completely remove all products containing gluten from your diet – any gluten consumed contributes to damage to your gut lining, there are sadly no cheat days with coeliac disease.
  2. Do not share butter, spreads, dips, or toasters with non-coeliac friends and family. It seems extreme but cross-contamination from double-dipped knives and crumbs can be enough to cause damage to your gut lining.
  3. Download the FoodSwitch App and toggle on gluten. This is a great tool that allows you to see what products contain gluten and provides recommendations on similar items that are gluten-free. All you need to do is scan the barcode on the product.

It’s a great idea to book in with your Dietitian to get support with the new changes to your diet. It can seem overwhelming at first, but there are so many naturally gluten-free foods and amazing gluten-free options around these days, you can still eat delicious foods-pain free.
